Crafted with just four ingredients, Downhill Pale Ale celebrates the elegance of simplicity. A generous amount of American and European hops perfectly balance its robust malt character, yielding a full-flavoured ale with distinct citrus notes. So kickback and relax. It’s all downhill from here.
Downhill Pale Ale is packaged unfiltered for optimal flavour. Serve at 4-6 degrees celsius in a traditional pint glass.

Waterloo Fall 2018. Hazy amber-orange with a strong head. Light, spicy hop nose. Light malt body with a satisfying balance between smooth and crisp.

one of the better pale ale types i had up in ontario this past week, but still a little bit unrefined, and not quite as good as their pils, objectively speaking. a little bit of an amber color to this one, with a tall white head from the tap and a little bit of chill haze on it. spicy hop nose is awesome, more robust and assertive than a lot of the others i had in the area, piney too, and really fresh smelling and tasting to me. i wish it wasnt muddled by a bigger scoop of crystal malt than it needs and the residual sugar it leaves, this would be fine with a pale two row base, even better maybe, but i like the body it has, and i like the way the bitterness is balanced, it might be more ipa than pale without it. spruce and juniper and dried orange peel character in the hops, light oily feel, toffee sweet for a second, slightly nutty too as it warms. lots of flavor here and they are on the right track, perhaps more of a work in progress right now, its not way off from being excellent. i like the bold flavors here, and think it stands out from the crowd because of them!

A: A wispy hazy semi translucent amber colour. Has a considerable sandy coloured head that stays around. I poured my can too hard and fast and it overflowed my glass.
S: Doughy and toffeey with hints of grapefruit, citrus rind, and spicy herb.
T: A good balance of hops and malt. A slightly resiny and piney citrus rind and toasty toffee taste. It started off just barely bitter but became stronger towards the end. A rather clean and subtle finish lasted to the end.
F: This beer has a great mouth feel. Medium carbonation and a nice thickness that coats your mouth a little. Very smooth, creamy, and warming. Not too drying.
O: This is a nice beer. A good balance of everything. I have to say I enjoyed this more towards the start (when it was colder) but I think I'll be having this one again soon.

Pours deep bronze color with a creamy smallish head. Doughy malt and caramel up front in the nose, with citrusy, floral hops on in tow in the aroma. Burnt toffee, cookie dough and white grapefruit in the taste. Toasty, specialty grains and christmas pudding in there as well. Medium bodied with a prickly, but moderate carbonation. The finish is lightly bitter with malt sweetness and fruity yeast esters.
This is a nice, well round Pale Ale. I'd say more in the English style than American with the prominent malt profile and yeast flavors. Worth a try.
