Pours deep, hazy orange with a huge, rocky head. Loads of lace clings to the glass. The nose is floral and earthy, with citrus and coconut notes. The taste reveals grapefruit, lemon rind, herbal notes and woody notes. A caramel maltiness builds in the back, becoming prominent in the finish. Medium bodied with a light to medium carbonation. Moderate to light bitterness in the short, fruity finish.

An interesting IPA - some nice US and UK hop flavors. The malt profile could be subdued or cleaned up a bit. Still worth a try.

473 mL can from the LCBO; packaged Jan 14 2019 and served slightly chilled. I liked their wet hopped pale ale, so let's see how this one goes.

Pours a relatively clear golden-blonde hue; highly effervescent, with streams of bubbles continuously rushing to resupply the finger of thick, creamy, off white-coloured head floating atop. Those streams probably relate to its resilience: even after ten minutes, it has barely budged. Lumpy rings of sticky lace are soon left behind, with more appearing after a few sips, as the level begins to drop. The aroma comes off a bit subdued, but I do enjoy what I'm sensing - floral hops, citrus zest, cedar forest and a light stone fruity character.

A pleasant quaff, though the flavours are a bit more delicate than I'd expect from this style - but to be fair, the back label describes it as a hybrid between UK and North American IPAs, which is a fair description of what I'm tasting. Light, grainy malts and honeyed sweetness underlie notes of orange, lemon and apricot, which themselves precede an array of floral, herbal, pithy, slightly grassy hop bitterness that lasts through to the finish. Earthy, floral aftertaste that lingers for a moment before fading. Medium in body, with low carbonation levels that weakly brush against the palate, resulting in a smooth, rather soft texture that I find enjoyable.

Final Grade: 3.92, a B+. White's Bay IPA is a darn good brew, but I'm hesitant to use any sort of superlative term when describing it. The orchard fruit and grassy, floral aspects are in line with what I'd expect from an English IPA, a style that I do have some affinity for, while the citrus notes help to drag the profile back towards something that casual hopheads should be able to appreciate. This beer won't blow very many people away, but it's a solid pale ale that I expect to return to semi-regularly - assuming fresh stock can keep rotating through the system.

Poured into a tulip from a can in August. This one pours golden opaque with very nice collar to start, but, alas, it did not last well. Weak nose here of hops and barley. fine taste here. Clean, crisp, refreshing bouquet of mild hops meets you with a slightly bitter finish. Not highly complex but dedent enough. minimal effervesence provides a weak feel here which could be improved. hey, can’t complain but can’t celebrate loudly either.

Not bad at all. Pours fairly transparent golden with a frothy white head. Aroma & taste of floral hops with some citrus & pine as well. Solid for an Ontario IPA but then again not excellent & nothing I will seek out again.
