Excellent craft beer shop, with some of the best staff in STL. Have sent several people here who aren't craft beer people, looking to buy a gift or start getting into beer more, and they've all been happy with the experience. CBC also has a small bar inside with some surprising and hard-to-find options. Parking is kind of a mess, but that's really the only knock. Follow on Twitter and order online for limited-releases.

I've been to several CBC locations between here and Boston (where I used to live) and this one has the most warm and welcoming people working there. Everyone is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about beer, and can help gauge whether a beer that catches your eye on the shelf or in the fridge suits your palate. The selection may not be as vast as at a place like Total Wine & More, but it's targeted for the right audience.
Prior to COVID I enjoyed sitting at the bar, striking up conversations with the employees and other loyal patrons, and trying what beers they had on tap as well as new releases from the fridge. Hoping to get back to those days soon.

Small store, but in a cool part of town. Inside is exposed brick walls and dark wood floors. Dark wood shelves fill the front of the store up with a half dozen or so coolers along the far wall offering cold beer to-go or for on-site consumption. The shelves filling the store have a good order to them and hold lots of good, well selected beer. The back side of the store features a few tables with a small bar to order tap or bottled beer from. Tap selection is small, but spanned a wide variety of styles. The staff is very friendly and helpful in selecting beers.

V-This small bottle shop/bar is located in the upscale suburb of Clayton. The store is pretty small with a large number of bottles stored warm, a few coolers, and a small bar with 10 taps and a couple tables in the back. I visited after work on a weeknight and the place was pretty mellow (except for the muted 90s heavy metal). It felt friendly and people in the store were mostly having a pour with no real agenda, which is a nice change from many bars or stores that feel so uptight about trying to be something special.
Q-While sipping on my first beer, a Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout, I wandered the shelves to see what they had. The inventory is almost all craft beer with just a few spirits. The beer quality was good (both tap and packaged), but much of the packaged beer was stored warm, which is a bit of a bummer.
Ser-The dude that poured my beer and opened the can I purchased was really awesome. He was knowledgeable, friendly, willing to offer samples, and poured beers properly. He took the time to explain almost every beer on the tap list to some other patrons too.
Sel-Craft Beer Cellar has a good selection of locals and bigger name craft, but nothing too unusual (at least when I visited). Imports were also represented. The tap list of ten beers covered much of the style spectrum too.
O-A really nice bottle shop with great service.

Very friendly staff that were very willing to find the beers I was after and discuss recommendations. It was disappointing to find that they limit the local distributors they use which limited the selection somewhat

Little shop in a nice shopping and dining district of Clayton. Limited parking. Awesome bar with 8-12 beers that are top notch quality. Often host amazing events. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable service. Club customer perks include discounts, early bird notices, and being able to put beers on hold for a day. Very large selection of high quality beers, but low number each beer. Large cider selection, mead selection, local selection, national selection, and foreign selections. I never leave here empty handed and never in bad mood.

A very pleasant spot to buy a wide array of craft beers. Clean, friendly, with a nice corner tap area that offers the chance to try interesting and sometimes hard to find beers. I had the latest Abyss when I visited, and could have easily ordered a half dozen if I'd not been in St. Louis on business.

Great selection, top notch employees who go out of the way to take care of you. The tap selection is small, but solid. This place is a must not miss if in the St Louis area.

This isn't a big shop but they do a good job of packing a big selection in here. The tap list is great but not as large as I'm used to at the Columbia location. The ability to buy any beer as a single is the best aspect of any CBC and is true of this one, too.

Great place to find both common and rare craft beers! The staff is always helpful and makes you feel like they're happy to see you there. Selection is always great and their tap selection was recently expanded!

Great place to stop to get a very nice selection of craft beer. Mix and match and pretty good prices. Also, a tasting room to sample various beers. Loved it!

The best craft beer store in St. Louis, hands down. Every bottle in the store is fair game for being bought individually or in a mix your own 6 pack setup. Everyone was super friendly and extremely helpful, but without being overbearing. They would still let you just browse around, but were more than willing to jump in to assist if need be.
There was also a bar at the back that holds flight tastings on Fridays. Even if it isn't Friday, they have 5 beers on tap at all times and is usually something they are showcasing in the store. It seems to change every week too, which keeps things fresh. You can purchase a half pour or full pour, and enjoy it at the bar or nearby tables; or drink while you shop. If you don't want a fully glass, but want to try it, the tastings are provided for FREE. All of them, FREE.
I just don't know if it could get any better. I can promise one thing, I will be giving a lot more of my money to them in the future, instead of some of the other bottle shops around the St. Louis area.

There's something oddly inviting about this place. I like this soft lighting which sets a tone of sorts. You are among great options, it seems to say. Oh, and it is good for the beer not going skunky.
There's a real laid back atmosphere. I never feel rushed or ignored. The staff is always attentive and welcoming. The prices are written in chalk under the bottles on the shelf. I love buying single bottles out of six packs. There's no BMC here taking up valuable shelf space (though I still buy BMC on occasion, they are shelf hogs).
It's not the biggest selection in town, but it is still fairly comprehensive. Maybe there aren't as many imports and perhaps not every brewery sold in the area is represented. Nor do they have every beer offered by each brewery distributed here. At the same I think they have a good feel for what is popular. I tend to feel overwhelmed by the offerings they do have that look appealing!
They always have a few great beers on tap and you can now order food from nearby restaraunts with Food Pedelar a local delivery service.

Not the largest selection, but perhaps one of the most diverse. The store is organized by region and all six-packs are available to be dismantled so as to purchase bottles individually. Awesome cellar-like vibe, with low lighting and chalkboard-painted shelves with the prices of six/four-packs and individual bottle prices handwritten directly on the shelves. They also feature a bar with five taps of a rotating selection to be enjoyed or sampled as one shops. With parking out back, definitely worth a look if in the area.

This place, above all the other beer stores in the area is my favorite. The staff is amazing and always willing to help no matter how much you buy. They also have great events that are open for anyone to join in, which is nice since many stores in the area tend to exclude people who just by a little at a time. I also can't say enough about how awesome the staff always very friendly and personable.

Super friendly staff, you can grab a draft pour of some great brews in the back, wide selection and freedom to make a mixer sixer of any beer you see (feel free to pull one out of a six pack!). Great rewards plan and they do creative events throughout the week!

Great place! Handful of beers on tap with free samples. Beers organized by region, except for coolers which are organized by type. Brandon was very cool and informative and not pushy. Was a great place to visit and grab some good brew.
