Copenhagen 3/7 2018. 33 cl bottle from Den Belgiske Ølbutik, Jyllingevej, Vanløse. Drawing of a playful fox on the label.
Pours hazy obscure amber with a small white head. Settles as a frothy, thin layer of foam crawling up the side of the glass. Very moderate lacing.
Aroma is sweet and spicy. Sweet fermented dark fruit, caramel, linoleum, glue, wood, nuts and alcohol. Light notes of chocolate.
Light carbonation. Medium thick, soft texture. Sticky.
Flavor is heavy sweet. Almost no bitterness present. Aftertaste is sweet with a nutty, spicy twist.
A very sweet heavy Belgian. Manages to hide the alcohol pretty well - then again I fear my next visit to the dentist.

L- Quite dark chestnut, minor haze, pours with 3mm ultra-fine bubble pale tan head (ps. holding well 15mins later).
S- Surprisingly subtle for 9.5%, just some very mild toasty/timber notes.
T- Nice, a roasted malts richness balanced by sufficient hops, finishing with a deep stewed fruit pungency with a final liquor-ish alcohol zing on the palate - the latter no big surprise given it's 9.5%.
F- Deep, quite pungent but wonderful balance. Slow-sipping, winter-warmer, ABV%-zing clear to the palate.
O- What a lovely beer. With a presence like this I'd not wish to have more than 2 at one evening, BUT I reckon it's the kind of beer I'd never get tired of enjoying; a 'keeper' if you like. There is zero with this beer I note that's out of balance or place. I'd very happily buy and drink this again, it's superb.
Bought from BelgiumInABox Antwerp/BE for home delivery to me in London/UK. 330ml bottle BB: 13/05/2021.

One of the best beers I've had. Very good, creamy pour of a dark amber. Delicious fruit mixed with roasted malt, and an almost candy-like finish. Hints of honey and apple. Very balanced taste.
