As indicated below, this is "house beer" at the famed Waterhuis in Ghent. It is a perfect beer to be drinking throughout summer afternoon gazing at the canal and the motley crowd of locals at the neighboring tables.
As it is, it's difficult to separate the beer from the environment and the setting in which I had it, but it did leave very good memories. Mellow, extremely tasty, with fresh herbal aroma and strong coniferous bitterness.
When in Belgium - by all means visit the place and order this beer (I pronounced it as "hund-AH-foom" to the waitress, which seemed to have sounded correctly).

On tap house beer at Waterhuis aan de Bierkant in Ghent, Belgium

Appearance
Clear, golden yellow; good head and lacing

Smell
Pronounced hoppy nose with aromas of mint and bubble gum

Taste & Mouthfeel
Good hop bite with more of that mint and bubble gum detected; not a lot of malt, creating a thinner body; crisp and appropriate level of carbonation; the hops really stand out, setting this beer apart from so many other Belgian ales

Overall
Very drinkable, tasty, and refreshing

I had this on tap at Waterhuis in Ghent.

Appearance: Pours a lightly hazy golden with a thick whit ehead that fades to a thin film leaving heavy lace.

Smell: Peppery spice with light fruity notes and a good hop undertone.

Taste: Nice peppery notes throughout with light fruit and a substantial hop bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Moderate carbonation, light to medium-bodied.

Drinkability: Very drinkable, nicely balanced.

Had on tap at Het Waterhuis Aan de Bierkant, a quaint old style tavern on the river in Gent with a huge beerlist. This is the place to get this beer on tap.

Pours a beautiful thick gold. Like a light caramel. A nice two finger head is a little thin and fades fast leaving a nice lace.

The nose is reminiscent of an American IPA: bright hops mingled with lemonhead candy.

Mouth is very well balanced. Dry hops with honey and a hint of lemon zest complement each other very nicely.

This is very drinkable and goes down fast. Highly recommended for a warm spring day outside overlooking the river.

Glass tasted at Het Waterhuis in Gent as this is their house beer. Beer was presented in its own glass. The beer poured a hazy yellow color with a thick white head, fluffy. The nose was citrusy and herbal. The taste was citrusy, hoppy and had some good spice notes as well. The hop bitterness from the dry hopping was very noticable and very pleasing to the taste buds.

If you come to Gent you must visit Het Waterhuis and if you visit Het Waterhuis you should try this house beer.

On-tap at Het Waterhuis, house beer - October 2008

Lightly hazy, bright gold with a fluffy nut dense white head. Some fine lacing down the glass. Smells of noble hops, some citrusy notes, sweet and spicy (clove, black pepper)

Good hop profile in this blonde. Spicy hops, fruity, yeasty and estery malt profile. Yeast provides an earthy and fruity character. Ripe pear, hints of lemon, noble hops in the finish. Finished nice and dry.

There was a ton of good beer available at Het Waterhuis so I didn't go back for seconds but it was pretty damned good. One of the better "blond" beers I sampled in Belgium.

Pours dark gold with a good white foam head. Some lace.

Some herbal notes and mild sweet fruit, tied to a hint of alcohol. The nose on this is nice, but not over-strong.

Good herbal hop presence, with some tropical fruit, but not much. A little creamy wood and a toasted malt bite. This one lays out the bitterness fairly full, but there are just enough nuances to this beer to smooth out the hop bite.

Medium bodied, well carbonated. A good tingle.

Shocked to see this bottled. Really nice and drinkable, with some good complexities.

House beer at the Waterhuis in Gent.
Appearance was clear golden, with a big fluffy white head that settles slowly and leaves good lacing.
Smell was malt, slight background of citrus and pepper.
Taste was again malt, bitter up front and a bitter finish. Tasted especially good on a warm sunny day sitting next to the canal.
