This tastes very much like the Iki normal beer, with notes of grass, dough, citrus and spices in both the nose and the mouth. On top of that, there's the obvious taste of ginger, that makes this feel more like a lemonade than a beer. Drinkable, refreshing.

This beer is made by the same people that make Ikki Beer yuzu (citrus).
This is the ginger version. Still made with hops and green tea but the yuzu is replaced with ginger.

I am afraid I am going to hate this.

It pours as a very cloudy orange beer with a bubbly white head that does not stick around for long.

It smells like beer but with a fruity spiciness from the ginger mixed in with some hops. The ginger does not overpower the smell. A slighly grainy malts base. Not that much to tell.

Now then... Taste.
Hard to put my finger on it really. It tastes like beer but it certainly has this spicey, slightly bitter ginger taste to it. The base beer is a rather bland ale, more like a lager type beer much like the yuzu version. But the ginger makes it different ofcourse; no citrus here. And surprisingly the ginger works quite well.

Lots of carbonation, thin to medium mouthfeel.

Overal quite a tasty beer like the yuzu. These Ikki beers surprise me with not being totally aweful. I don't know if I even want to like flavoured beers like this but this tastes very decent!

From Hipercor. In Teku glass. Browsing Steam's bundles. The ginger touch is soft enough to dont ruin it. In fact, it is a pretty pleasantly drinkable brew

Coming in a 330ml slim brown bottle, bottle-conditioned; BB 24/10/14, served mildly chilled in a straight imperial pint glass. Notes: the info. printed on the bottle says it’s brewed with ginger (doesn’t say in what form) and green tea (no detailed specification, either).

Appearance: pours a murky, dark amber hue, coming with a 2cm thick off-beige creamy head settling to a thin cap to last, on top of fairly healthy and mild carbonation.
Smell: the aroma upfront is, um, quite dusty, spiced lemony, peppery and as of licorice-coated prunes, while the overripe-citrus-fruit estery bits come very pronounced in suppressing the other supposed malty or gingery elements. Given a good swirl, the relatively mild, refreshing gingery notes emerge, not like the more raw-ish and rough root-gingery aroma as in many other ginger-infused ales, but quite mild, hence dissipating soon after the 1-second pop-up.
Taste: pleasantly effervescent, the semi-slick fruity-malty swallow gives way to a mixed middle taste that is gently gingery, peppery-spicy, licorice-ish and fruit-estery, leaving restrained bitterness and lightly chewy mouthfeel in the finish with more undertones of ginger liquid. The aftertaste also shows a rather smooth texture unlike anything I can readily associate with, maybe as a result of the added green tea?
Mouthfeel & Overall: the mouthfeel remains slightly slick maybe due to the sugary content and/or yeastiness, yet the carbonation level is really smooth and approachable; all in all this medium-bodied and mixed-flavoured ale shows a somewhat minimalist level of ginger input, maybe “paling” in front of De Proef’s typical handling of their yeasts, that is quite assertive in all of their beers that I’ve tried. That said, I’m happy to have tried this beer once; it’s… different.
