Poured from a 22oz bomber.

L - Cloudy, golden orange beer that seems to glow in the light. Off-white head is thick and sticky and persistent.

S - Strong hops aromas are of earthy tropical fruits, like mango and papaya. Low levels of bready malt and boozy alcohol in the background.

T - Hops dominate the flavors; pine mixing with the expected tropical fruit. Some bready malt balances. Clean, fruity yeast notes.

F - Medium body. Creamy, mouthfillig carbonation. Hops bitterness strong, but not overwhelming. Moderate alcohol presence.

O - The distinctive tropical fruit hops are the key component here, but it is overall a clean and somewhat balanced Imperial IPA.

Nearly clear golden amber color with a big foam on each pour that creates plenty of lacing in the Affligem chalice. Hot and sudsy on the tongue. Plenty of aromatics but it's a more leafy and herbal scent.

This is rich and malty with a serious sweetness. The hot alcohol coupled with the hop oils make this a zesty adventure. Bitterness is moderate. The big flavors here showcase a hop I'm less familiar with. Honeydew melon taste with some lemon-lime citrus. Distinct citrus peel bitterness. Hot and sharp finish. The overall flavor is decent enough, but it's a little harsh compared to the many lucious DIPAs.

If this was more of a deal than the eight bucks I paid, it would seem more worth buying. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Barrons Market in San Diego.

Pours a murky golden-orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, grapefruit juice, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, grapefruit juice, herbal hop, and metallic flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an average beer that smells solid, but the mix of metallic and bitter qualities in the taste make this one a bit tough to drink much of.

[nebulous galaxy]

Poured from a 22 oz. bomber into a tulip glass.

Was really excited to try this brew, especially with my current love for Galaxy hops. Unfortunately, this wasn't what I had in mind.

Pours a nice pale golden color, looks promising.

Smell is where the big letdown comes, overly grainy malt scents, no floral or citrusy notes like I would expect from a Galaxy hopped brewski. Taste gets a little better, but nothing to write home about. More maltiness comes through up front, with some slight citrus flavors in the finish. There is nothing in here that left me wanting more, next!
