Pours clear, bright yellow in color with one inch head. Taste is grain, corn, and a bit of smokiness. Light bodied, moderate carbonation, and slightly sweet. Makes for a nice and clean light lager. A good alternative to BMC. Nothing I would rush out for except for supporting the Gold Star cause, but well worth a try if you want a beer in this style.

Poured from a 16 OZ can into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear golden color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is mostly grass with some hops. The taste follows the nose. As an OIF vet i love the tribute on each can to one of the fallen.

Pours effervescent gold with 3+ fingers of eggshell colored head. Decent lacing, below average head retention

S: Slight breadyness, grassyness

T: Wet cereal notes, grassyness, sweet grainynesss & a little dryness up front. Faint soapy & grassy hop notes once warm, grainy sweetness as well. Finishes with sweetness, a little grainyness, & a little dryness & a little pear, much cloying sweetness

MF: Light body, fairly firm carbonation, gets more watery as it warms

Pretty average offering, wish this great idea had some better beer behind it

L: Slightly hazy, transparent golden orange with a thin, soapy white head. Moderate retention, with some lacing.

S: Sweet grainy malt. Some biscuit, honey, either corn or rice, red apples, clover.

T: Very grainy, slightly mineraly. Honey sweetness with some biscuit. Crisp apple and pear notes. Some corn. Brief and very subtle grassy and floral hops.

F: Light-bodied, moderate carbonation. Drinks a bit thin with no real body, but the malt is fairly flavorful.

O: An okay easy drinking lager. A small step above most macro lagers.

Decent lager with some tastes of an AAL. Overall, good but not as defined as I would have wanted. Color and head are good, but flavors are slightly muddled

Clear gold with two fingers of foamy white head. Some splotches of lace as the level falls.
Smell is mostly grain bin. Some hop spice as well.
Taste is malts at first with the grassy hop bitterness making a delayed entrance to balance the sweetness from the malts.
Mouthfeel is light to medium with strong carbonation. Finish is lightly dry with some more grassy or herbal hop bitterness.
Overall I recommend this lager. Well worth a try. From a pint can four pack for around $8.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head that slowly dissipates to patches with slight lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, light citrus hops, a little spicy. Flavor is also grainy malt with light huskiness, light grassy hops. Finishes husky with a lingering dry grassy hop bitterness. Medium bodied with good carbonation. To its credit, this has a distinctive grainy malt flavor with a hint of spiciness and is not as mellow and sweet as many pale lagers. The finish leaves a light tartness and the grassy hops are somewhat pedestrian. A satisfactory light lager and a worthy cause. Appears to be well distributed and I wish them well.

Dog Tag Legacy Lager has a medium, white head, a very deep gold appearance, with some orange highlights, bubble streams, noticeable white chips of sediment (some are relatively large), and a bit of glass lacing. The aroma is of an unusual fruit note (apricots?), which I assume is from the hops. and some pale malt. Taste is of very sweet, white bread, that odd fruit thing, and a decent amount of straight-up bitterness. Mouthfeel is on the fuller side of it (high medium), and Dog Tag finishes crisp and clean. A quick shout out to 1LT Joseph J. Theinert Shelter Island, New York 14 Feb 1986-4 Jun 2010.

Looks like a lager. Clear golden color with tons of carb bubbles topped by a crackling three finger head of large white soapy bubbles.

Smells like sweet bread and corn. Just getting a lot of sweet on the nose.

Taste is like an AAL but just a bit sweeter.

Mouth actually leans toward the medium end with a wet slick finish.

Overall I am proud to try this beer and add it as my number 250. I like what this brewery is doing and I feel as if I am drinking a beer in honor of the soldier named on the backside of the can. The beer itself is standard AAL with a touch more sweetness.

Poured from a 16oz can into a nonic pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold color, with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a very thin lace on the glass.

S: The aroma contains light malts, lager yeast and some hops.

T: The taste starts out with some malt sweetness along with mild flavors of caramel and citrus. Then some mild breadiness comes in from lager yeast and a thin malt character. The hops presence is mild and brings a little bit of balance. The after-taste is slightly bready and slightly sweet.

M: Crisp and a little smooth, light-to-medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.

O: A little tasty, goes down ok, not too filling, mild kick, decent representation of style, this is just a mediocre beer at best.

Pours clear golden with a white head. Grassy smell to it. Taste is grassy malts. Mouthfeel is light bodied. Overall, like the concept, but the bear itself is meh.
