Dated 01.10.16. 750 mL cork-topped bottle served in a Belgian tulip. Beer pours pale and cloudy and forms a large+ white foamy head. Aroma is of fresh grain. Maybe this "Belgian specialty ale" has kind of a saison thing going? Flavor offers an initial sweetness, but quickly turns dry on the palate. Ultra-fine carbonation. I'm finding this extremely flavorful, with very little alpha bitterness, yet it's impressively dry. Amazingly well balanced, and with no detectable ethanol burn. Really the only thing that limits the drinkability of this Belgian ale is the high carbonation -- though I think it's really necessary for this particular beer. It's accompanied by a creaminess in the body which suggests to me that oats were involved.

Everything about this suggests to me that these guys know how to brew beer. I would happily drink this again & will look out for Kazematten in the future.

Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a lightly hazy golden amber with a fine two finger white head that is constantly refreshed with streamers of bubbles. Looks nice. Aroma of grainy malt, orange citrus and an earthy ground spice similar to allspice; a slight funky and sharp element. Flavor is neutral malt, Belgian yeast, lemon citrus, apple and pear. Semi-dry and peppery. Surprisingly dry finish similar to a dry saison, but with light apple family juice at the edges. Mild hops in the finish. Light to medium bodied with peppery, active carbonation; fun to drink like champagne. An interesting take on a Belgian pale ale, like a hybrid between classic Belgian pale yeast and saison yeast, with the latter winning out in the dry finish. Somewhat understated in flavor, not reaching a typical Belgian pale, but enjoyable for the interesting flavor transition and finish.

Excellent body. Great looking in glass. Very solid. Not hoppy at all. Great creamy, fluffy head. Hazy, lots of carbonation. A little lemony and citrusy. Well done.

Picked up in Ieper's last summer. 330ml bottle with a ABV of 6.2. Pours a yellow orange colour with a foamy white head. Aromas of citrus, orange & malt. Tastes of citrus, orange, grain, fruit & malt. The aftertaste has a orange-citrus malty light bitter finish.

Bottled and possibly bottle conditioned
Pours a slightly hazy slightly cloudy amber body with decent enough white head
Nicely spiced arms that reminds me Of martini bianco
That’s not far off the flavour

Appearance: Light golden straw colored body with a very thin spotty but foamy white head. The pour is visibly turbid. Nothing appears wrong with the beer but it isn't especially good looking.

Aroma: It has a very nice but unique aroma. It reminds me of a very strong Cheerios scent with a spicy overtone. While it does have this sweet honey aroma it isn't bolstered by the hop character I would expect from a Belgian Pale Ale.

Taste: There is a very pleasant apple flavor to this beer. It is light, airy, and clean. This is followed in suit by the taste of honey. There is a fain resemblance to Apple Jacks cereal. Once again this is a very nice flavor but not quite what I would expect from a Belgian Pale Ale.

Mouthfeel: The mouthfeel is pretty average fair. It is about what I would expect for this beer no more, no less.

Overall: So here we are at the end. A beer that is delicate and light, reminiscent of a honeycrisp with actual honey added. This doesn't strike me quite as the ideal Belgian Pale Ale, but it has a nice elegant flavor nonetheless. In the end I do recommend this beer. While you won't get as much hop presence as you might want out of a Belgian Pale Ale, you will be met with a lovely flavor that is memorable.

L: Poured from a bottle to a tulip glass. Had a golden-orange color and a cloudy texture. There was an inch of foamy, very long-lasting head. Average lacing.

S: An interesting aroma, with some yeast, apples, and other fruity esters mixed in.

T: Tasted of a fair amount of apples, a little spice (pepper, especially) Belgian yeast, citrus (lemon, for the most part), and possibly some pear thrown in. A light, fruit-centric flavor with an emphasis on apples that's very light and vibrant.

F: A well-carbonated beer with a prickly finish. Light-bodied.

O: This is an easy to drink kind of beer that would be great for the summer. Lively and sweet.

On tap at Boneyard Bistro in Sherman Oaks, CA.

Pours a murky golden-orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of grain, citrus fruit, citrus juice, and perfume aromas. Taste is much the same with grain, fruit, earth, and slight citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but fairly boring to me.

Serving type: on tap.
