Poured from a ten-day old can into a tulip glass. I also had this beer on draft a few hours before so some sense of comparison is on my mind in reviewing it.

Look - Very nice appearance, a hazy lemon yellow or light amber gold depending on the angle of view.

Smell - Dank, earthy hops and tropical fruit with a refreshing crispness.

Taste - This beer strikes a perfect balance between being slightly watery and opaque/hazy/viscous/sticky/juicy, particularly because it's pretty dry in texture. It manages to be incredibly refreshing and thirst-quenching but also very flavorful. The taste is also dominated by dank and fruity hops. It's sweet and juicy with a slight hint of cannabis. There's only a bit of bitterness, but enough to balance out the flavor.

Feel - Dry and fairly viscous, a prickly bitterness following bright fruit flavors, and a fruity and sweet but quite resiny aftertaste.

Overall - This is an awesome IPA in the up-and-coming juicy/lightly roasted malt variety (the most similar approach I'm familiar with being Fieldwork in Berkeley). A must-try for California craft beer drinkers close enough to get it.

Canned date of 11/23/16

Appearance - Pours relatively clear and golden yellow in color with a white, half finger head that dissipates rather quickly, leaving behind a mostly barren surface and a thin ring of suds around the edge of the glass. Fair lacing, mostly made up of thin, broken lines and small spotting.

Smell - Modest tropical aroma, hitting on guava, mango, passionfruit and a hint of citrus.

Taste - Follows the nose. Flavor is moderate in strength, and hits on notes of mango, guava and passionfruit. A hint of orange mid-taste, with light pith and black pepper spice. The aftertaste rings with light pineapple zing and faint pith bitterness.

Mouthfeel - Light-to-medium in body with moderate carbonation. Slick, easy drinker with a slightly crisp, slightly dry finish.

Overall - A delicate, unique tropical IPA that drinks easy, though it leaves a bit to be desired when it comes to punchy flavor. For the price, it'd be hard to justify a second purchase.

On point single hop ipa that delivers plenty of mosaic on the nose. Light gold in color with crystal clarity. Carbonation is low, which would be the only significant detraction to me. Guava, pineapple and some tropical floral notes dominate, with more bright tropical fruit on the palette. Low bitterness and a clean malt bill keeps the aromatic hops in the driver's seat.
