Another California brewery going for the NE haze and doing it well. This was one of my favorite IPAs from my visit to the Bay Area. It literally looked like orange juice, very turbid. Taste was very juicy, with a slight hop character on the back end. Smell was like straight up juice too. Another one I should of picked up a 4 pack of.

Judging by early reviews and my experience, this is one that changed after a few weeks in the can. Hazy but without any particulate matter or chunks. Looks more like apricot juice than orange juice. I suspect that this is all from yeast as opposed to the addition of oats or flour ... the lighter feel gives me the same impression. I get a lot of stone fruit ... primarily peach but some candied apricot flavors with enough bitterness to keep that sweeter fruit flavor from turning flabby. Doesn't have that pillowy soft mouthfeel from adding wheat, oats, etc, but I appreciate the lighter body that keeps it crisp and drinkable. If a 7.2% beer can be called sessionable ... this is a more sessionable version of the NE style.

Hazy yellowish color with plenty of foam in the chalice. This tastes like so many hazy IPAs I"ve had in the last few weeks. It's quite drinkable but nothing distinctive, and I think I am getting tired of this orange juice mineral taste. Club soda and limeade.

However, it's pleasingly fruity. Moderately bitter and a little hot on the lips, like it really has citrus peel in it. From the 16 oz can purchased at Bottlecraft in LIberty Station.

Pours a hazy orange, just like orange juice, but with fine, soapy foam.

Smell is so juicy it's practically dripping. Oranges, mango and more mango just jump out of the glass and invade your sinuses. Damn, this smells good!

Taste just keeps the juiciness pumping, with the same notes as the nose, and some lemon sorbet thrown in for good measure. There's a slight hint of tea and a perfectly balanced bitterness with just the right amount of hop burn. Long, slightly dry finish.

Mouthfeel is medium, soft and pillowy, and well carbonated.

Overall, just a superb IPA, so easy to drink and so juicy.

Really hazy yellow color. Aroma is fruity, slightly dank, mostly juicy tropical notes. Taste follows, really juicy and tropical with milky yeast notes. Medium body and carbonation. Quite good one, juicy and dank.

A NE-style IPA in appearance, this lemon-yellow brew is exceptionally cloudy upon pouring, eventually settling into a dim translucence just shy of opacity. Head production is rather modest, producing perhaps a finger and a half of white foam after a normal pour. Retention is similarly just OK, although the lacing it leaves behind is rather nice and reminiscent of patches of snow.

Tropical, fruity, herbal, and slightly dank on the nose. If you've had a modern IPA with Citra, Amarillo, or New Zealand or Australian hops, you've likely encountered these notes. (The website states this was originally dry hopped with Citra and Amarillo, coincidentally to my review, but also that the hops vary with each batch.) Pineapple, mango, starfruit, oregano, parsley, grapefruit pulp, and laced with a slightly sweet dankness.

Flavor follows, packing in a ton of juicy hop flavors in a relatively low ABV package. This brew follows suit with some of the better hop bombs of the Northeast, which manage true DIPA levels of hops in a single IPA format. Primarily grapefruit and oregano up front, along with a light wildflower honey and cracker malt base. A restrained dankness emerges in the middle - I would expect this brew is powerfully dank when fresh, but this one is sitting at 30 days since canning, a window I find much more pleasant for my palate when dealing with Citra, among other varietals.

Light and juicy feel up front, but there's enough of a chewiness to keep it from reaching Radler-like levels of watery lightness. Quite active and lively, this makes for a very drinkable and quaffable brew. Realistically, this is what I wish session IPAs tasted and felt like: smothered in hops, light and easy drinking, but with enough malt backbone to remind you that you're drinking a beer instead of dry-hopped seltzer water.

A very nice beer overall. I wouldn't call it trade bait, but I'd be very, very pleased as a local with this on the shelves.
