Double IPA fermented with a blend of yeasts, resulting in flavors and aromas of juicy nectarines and ripe pineapple. Dry hopped heavily with a unique pairing of American and Southern Hemisphere hops (Citra, Mosaic, Vic Secret).

Can poured into an Alvarado Street Brewery beer glass
A: Pours hazy golden amber with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and laces very nicely.
S: Ripe tropical and stone fruit, zesty citrus, bubble gum, a touch of pine, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness.
T: Spicy resinous pine, followed with a mix of zesty citrus, tropical, and stone fruit, lemon lime, mango, orange, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, peach, and apricot, floral notes, bubble gum that grows more and more once you realize it's there, a bit yeasty, biscuity bready malt, and caramel sweetness. A little alcohol can poke through.
M: Medium to full body, moderate carbonation, soft on the palate, but also has a bit of hop burn.
O: First thing that stood out to me is the bitterness is definitely more assertive than in a lot of other Alvarado Street IPAs. I don't mind that at all, but there's something about the way that the alcohol peeks through that I'm not wild about. Overall it's a solid beer, but I'm not in love with it.

Countach pours a murky, thick, pale yellow with a beautiful full head that lingers. The aroma is juicy with pineapple and grapefruit with whiff of pine. The taste is pineapple sweetness up front with a hint of grapefruit but not overly hoppy with resin.

Sweet tropical, slightly yeasty nose on this one! Taste follows with a nice and juicy, grapefruit citrus bitter kick. The kick of bitterness is a smidgen overcooked and lingers just a little too long for my palate. Still very good, though! It has nice depth and a soft mouthfeel.

6/19/19 release, reviewed 6/22/19
Good, solid DIPA hazy from ASB. Super hazy & cloudy orange/pineapple juice look with a nice thick head that dissipated with almost no head retention, no lacing.
Terrific ripe, pungent citrus/tropical fruits aroma; taste has MUCH more dank floral hop flavors to balance out the fruit, feel is smooth & creamy but with a bit of bite and astringency.
Overall, still stellar and sits above others around in the category, but probably on the lower end in terms of feel for an ASB brew.

This beer pours a murky orange yellow. Thin foaming. Orange forward citrus aroma. Mellow, pillowy haze beer. Easy drinker.
Enjoyed on tap at the Toronado.

Had on tap a while back, but having from the can now. Let's see how it compares.
L: hazy yellow in appearance with little head on the pour. Minimal head formed from a standard pour with no residual lacing. Just looking at the beer, it looks quite nice but the lack of lacing knocks it down compared to other ASB offerings.
S: Yeast up front, with hints of mango and citrus. Smells like a classic ASB staple and I am ready.
T: Darn delicious. Yeast forward, which is the case with most ASB offerings. Mango, pineapple, banana, mango and citrus all are the fruits flavor present. Mild black pepper and bubble gum finish. Darn tasty.
F: Medium in body, medium in weight. Smooth, creamy and very enjoyable. Moderate carbonation for the style.
O: An amazing beer that I would gladly revisit. I am very glad to try it from the can, and I totally recommend. Cheers!

Pours opaque deep yellow, with ~average head; head retention is fairly standard. Lacing is just below medium for the style. Smell is fairly pungent and somewhat typical for Alvarado NEIPAs. In the smell, I pick up tangerines, papayas, and bright tropical notes; yeast is apparent. Taste follows the nose well, but it's juicier than expected — very much a sense of an orange juice. Feel is a spot-on NEIPA. Alvarado St. practically always nails the feel on their beers. No alcohol is apparent, which is great at over 8% ABV. This is a very respectable double NEIPA. It ticks all the right boxes and excels in most categories. It would be a solid 4.5 if it had a little less yeast flavor.
