Great place! Vibe and music was great! Good customer service and good food. The quality of brews was off the charts! Not the easiest to find parking, but a great time here!

Spent the weekend diving in Monterey and while I had hoped to stop by Alvarado Street Brewery in Salinas, we ended up at the eatery, downtown Monterey. As expected it was crowded on the Saturday we arrived, about 2PM. We got luck with a parking spot just up the street from the brewery, as the anticipation built.

The establishment was jumping with activity, the bar was full, but there some room at the tall tables in the bar area. We took a seat and started looking at the line up being served. We waited no more than 3-4 minutes before our server stopped by dropping food menus and taking out drink order. My friend ordered a Rack It, while I decided on the Cryo Shake.

Wasn't impressed with my beer selection, a bit bitter for a milkshake IPA, but I drank it, while looking for round two. Our server took our orders; Calamari for me, and the Pork Belly Poutine for my buddy. The food was relatively quick, as I wasn't finished with my beer yet. The Calamari was lightly breaded, hot and served with a cocktail sauce and chipolte aioli. Tasty and filling, it hit the spot after diving.

Round two was up and I discussed options with the people next to me, as one of their party had ordered the Black Cherry Whip, which missed on the first round. Same goes for Bubble Bath, as those would have been my top choices. I opted for the Bubble Bath and this sour was perfect, light and fruity with a nice tartness. Hit the spot.

We also found out a bit too late that the tap takeover outside, on the patio was from Pure Project, not Pour, as we were told in the bar area. By the time we went outside, they were down to just two beers and nothing in cans or any collabs to purchase. I looked at their can selection and while impressive, I passed.

Overall, a great place to go! Good food and service and as expected high quality beer. When I return to Monterey to dive, rest assured this is going to be on my places to go to.

Really liked this place a lot. Biggie's Bon Bon Bonanza and Motor Oil were absolutely delicious but I was bummed that they don't sell their own growlers and won't fill other growlers with anything at or above 10% which is a huge miss for them if you ask me because their best beers are of course over 10%. Still worth a visit but it really was a bummer to leave without a growler because I really wanted one.

Sweet and swanky, this place is bustling and busy. It feels far ‘nicer’ than most breweries, but fits in fine with the area. Unfortunately, but not unsurprisingly, prices match accordingly.

This is a review of the Salinas tasting room. It is located in a metal building in an industrial section of town. The bar space is fairly spartan with a couple of refrigerated display cases and a row of taps. Surrounding the bar area are a few oak barrel racks. Behind them are a few rows of stainless steel fermentation tanks. They don't offer food on a regular basis, but I was told that they do have a rotating schedule of food trucks. The space is not heated and they keep the bay door open, so it can be chilly in there. Dress accordingly.

Swung by on a beautiful Monterey afternoon and was quickly seated on the patio. The staff was very friendly and helpful; solid service. There were 7 house brews on tap, 2 on nitro, plus a nice selection of guest handles and a great food menu. I had a few very tasty pints and some delicious short rib poutine while enjoying the perfect weather. Very relaxing place to grab a good brew, though I can see it getting busy later on in the day. It's well worth the short excursion front Cannery Row.

If you are in Monterey, this is a spot to check out. besides a healthy and varying selection of their brews, they also have a great selection of guest taps and bottles. This place is very chill and the prices are not through the roof. Great staff who are friendly and fast on your order. walking distance from the pier.

Very friendly place and the service was excellent. I know this is a tourist town, but you get a home town feel the moment you walk in. The pizza is fantastic and they have a great beer selection.

Visited yesterday and had a wonderful experience. Pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beer. Environment was refreshing and inviting. Glad to see this brewery pop up here in Monterey County. Location is great, although parking may be difficult. (I recommend parking on the next street over) Didn't try the food, but I will next time! Nice selection of beers along with a wide selection of guest taps as well. Cheers!

This place was just down the street from our hotel, and so I met LakerLieth for a couple of brews after an in person trade. Based on some of the comments I'd heard from others, I wasn't expecting a whole lot, but this place turned out to be an absolute gem. There's sort of an upscale vibe to the place, and it was surprisingly large (read that there used to be an old theater in this space), with high ceilings. For all that, there is still a pretty laid back vibe to this place, and they had 3 or 4 large flat screen TV's showing the niner game (who lost again; this time to SD in OT). Our server was friendly and very accommodating, and drink orders came quickly. We both got sample flights to start with (a bargain at $8 for four small snifters) of some of the house beers, and I was impressed by nearly everything I tried. The minesweeper IPA was very good, and the saison was excellent. Milk stout was also pretty tasty, and the mai tai IPA was a trip (onions, skunky hops and tropical fruit). I think they had 9 or 10 house beers on tap, and then the same number of guests beers (solid line-up here as well, with the merry taj from Lost Abbey, the mocha version of the velvet merlin and Drake's DeNoggonizer). Didn't try the food, but what I saw looked pretty good.

Very solid place.... I would come back here in a heartbeat!

Good food although not a huge menu. Taps change frequently offering a new style to check out. I am a huge fan of the IPA. Service has been hit or miss, but generally not terrible.

Visited with my partner and her daughter on her birthday. Beautiful contemporary interior with open kitchen and brewery, located in the midst of Old Town Monterey.

The three of use tasted a sampler of four plus four pints of different brews with dinner. These beers were all brewed on-site and all were well make for an overall rating of 4.0. The Minesweeper IPA was the favorite of the group containing two ardent IPA fans who rated it a solid 4.5.

For dinner we had a variety of appetizers and entrees all of which were okay but none stood out or matched the overall quality of the beers. The menu is a bit upscale for a brewpub (hence the name Grill) with accompanying prices and smaller portions for a rating of 3.0.

Overall, I would highly recommend the beers and the ambiance (they also have a nice selection of guest taps and hard-to-find bottles). I will definitely come back for the beers but visit another of the area's many restaurants for dinner.

Very nice. Good pub food. Active wine barrel fermenters placed around the restaurant. Had their saison which was just right. Can get crowded on evenings and weekends but not bad in the afternoon usually. Highly recommended.

Finally, something like this in downtown Monterey! The location is perfect, the beers are solid, and the food's even better. The guest tap list selection is super (they had The Bruery's Autumn Maple on tap when I visited). Fantastic job with this place, a great place to top in when in Monterey.

My girlfriend and I were in Monterey last week and decided to give this place a try. It might look small from the outside, but there's quite a bit of space once you step inside. I was really impressed by the food and their prices on the food weren't unreasonable. Tap list was also very solid, with some good local offerings, a few international classics and 5 or 6 beers made on site. I tried a flight of their beers and was pleasantly surprised by all of them. The Mai Tai P.A. was the standout for me. Just a really well crafted Pale Ale. The one knock on the place was that our server was a bit slow, but overall, I'd recommend checking this out.
