Our Honey Ginger is a deep gold-colored ale. The medium- to high-carbonation level enhances the fresh ginger in the aroma. The malt backbone supports the sweetness of the locally-sourced honey and the spiciness of the ginger. A strong, yet refreshing and deceptively smooth summer ale.

Original review from August 2019: Poured from a bottle into a pint glass and the head overflowed about 2/3 of the pour in -- an impressive start! Head settled down pretty quickly thereafter leaving a quite opaque and soothing amber-honey. Scent comes across as ginger with sweetness that I imagine should be the honey sensation. Taste has bit of crispness to it up front -- probably from the carbonation -- with ginger flavor continued up front followed by a fairly long lasting honey flavor and sweet aftertaste. Seems like some sort of spice flavor is around as well. A faint touch of bitterness also lingers in the aftertaste.
Overall something pretty interesting to try -- especially if subtle honey or ginger flavors are something you enjoy.
Updated review for August 2022: The look has improved even further (it is a gorgeous pour, +0.5 pts); smell of honey and ginger is clearer (+0.25) but the taste has dropped slightly (-0.25). Feel and overall both have slight increases (+0.25) to reflect a particular enjoyable and smooth summer offering.

On tap at Ardent.
Pours a clear amber with fine, soft foam.
Smell is sweet and floral with notes of honey and ginger.
Taste is malty and sweet with some floral notes a fine mist of ginger in the background. Well balanced.
Mouthfeel is medium, well carbonated.
Overall, a nice floral ginger ale, where the ginger doesn't take center stage, like it's prone to do. Well rounded and drinkable.

On-tap at Capital Ale House, Richmond, VA
A: The beer is clear light amber in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high dense white head on the surface.
S: Moderate aromas of ginger are present in the nose.
T: Like the smell, the taste has lots of flavors of ginger along with notes of hone towards the finish. There are also some associated hints of sweetness from the honey.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very gingery and has a nice "bite" on the mouthfeel.
Serving type: on-tap

L: Had this beer on-tap at Capital Ale House - Midlothian, poured into a pint glass. Had a chocolate brown color and a thick, murky texture. There was a small amount of foamy head that quickly dissipated. Not much lacing.
S: A fair aroma of ginger, malt, honey, and some indeterminate spices.
T: Tasted of a decent amount of malt, a tiny bit of hops (mostly in the finish), a tinge of ginger (not as much as you'd expected), mild spices (pepper), and some honey. Kind of an unbalanced flavor. The advertised ginger isn't quite as prevalent as it should be, but overall the taste is OK.
F: A decent amount of carbonation with a smooth finish. Medium-bodied.
O: This is an uneven beer for the most part, but it has its bright points. Worth a look.

Dark orange, iridescent. Minimal head. Aroma is odd - the richness of honey but almost congress across as buttery. Ginger is not apparent. Flavor also has a hint of buttery thickness with no ginger. Not unpleasant but odd.

First impression on the smell was latrine :-) combination of dirty bathroom and disinfectant. I couldn't shake that image as I drank it. It's unique and both the ginger and the honey are well-balanced, but I just couldn't shake that first impression.
