Poured a brown body with minimal head and lace. Mild, bready aroma and not much else. Soapy, yeasty, extra spicy with clove and pepper, hints of banana bread. Body has a little bit of heft so it's not slick or watery. Finishes spicy with a touch of malty sweetness and overall has a decent balance.

Undated can; drank 4/1/23 @ Pokemon Communion.
Opaque brown/purple appearance.
Nice tan head; decent lace.
Butterscotch, booze heat & faint oak notes in the nose.
Thick, creamy mouthfeel.
Caramel, cream, booze heat & oak flavors.
Robust, sweet & enjoyable. I'd have another!

Pours a deep amber hue like maple syrup. I get dark bread, caramel, golden raisin, burnt toast. When I have a doppelbock, these are exactly the flavors I expect to experience. Ardent makes great lagers. This is another one of them.

Always loved this style and this is the best I've had, without question. Ardent is the best brewery in Richmond (imo), and I always look forward to this one. Perfectly balanced, easy to drink, absolutely delicious!

Delicious! Beautiful color and head. Muted but pleasant bock aroma. Soft mouthfeel. Malty and sweet, but balanced with just enough bitterness that stays on the tongue. Just enough carbonation. Overall very balanced. If you like bocks, try this one.

There is certain foaminess and fruit up front. The booz and the malt is rightly hidden, and come out in the aftertaste. Excellent doppelbock, and made in Richmond!!

Not a big fan of the style but this was very enjoyable. Most run too sweet for me ...this toed the line but had a subdued maltiness that I thouroughly enjoyed
