IPA X is double dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops, an exciting combination that provides big citrus and tropical fruit notes in both aroma and flavor. This juicy beer pours a cloudy, deep golden color, with super low bitterness and a silky soft mouthfeel.

Poured a golden orange body with great head and lace patches. The aroma is mild with minimal acidic bitter hops. Smooth, mild, light-bodied but at times the bitterness of the earthy, citric hops is biting and the finish is sharp and crisp.

Had on tap at Squirrels game
Pours a hazy orange color. Looks good points lost for zero head
Aroma is typical hazy fare, orange, tangerine, juice
Taste- pineapple, some oily hip bitterness, tangerine, decent malt undertone. Good!
Feels bitter and oily in a good way
Overall it’s not distinguished, but still solid

Taster at Ardent. Hazy, pale yellow/ golden pour, skimpy head. Aroma is faint citrus peel. Taste adds some vanilla and sweetness, maybe lactose to smooth this out. Soft and approachable.

Poured from a 16oz can into a shaker pint
Look: Hazy peach juice with a white head
Smell: Guava, mango, and rotten pineapple with a sweet malt.
Taste: A big punch of rotten tropical fruit on the punch gives way to a thin and too sweet malt body with a piney hip finish.
Feel: A bit to thin and clean for a hazy IPA. Medium plus bitterness. Mild alcohol. Medium dry finish.
Overall: A just fine juicy IPA. The body was too thin and sweet for the style. Nothing terrible but nothing noteworthy either.

From the bottom of the can: "06/03/20"
Appearance: The body is a pale straw gold color that is hazy. The head is medium sized, fluffy, and white. Decent retention and lacing.
Aroma: The beer smells like wildflowers. While it lingers under the nose for a bit it starts to change from wildflower into mango.
Taste: Up front there is a light bit of mango an pineapple. These flavors are lost in the middle of the mouth where it is a bit like cabbage. It finishes very bland.
Mouthfeel: It has a medium body with a smooth texture. Bitterness is low.
Overall: It feels pretty uninspired and empty. While there are hop flavors they feel very retracted and lackluster. Pairing food with the beer would be difficult because even plain toast would outshine the flavors. I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't drink it again.

02/27/20 stamp on bottom of can. Poured into a Samuel Adams Perfect Pint.
A: Hazy lemonade yellow with 2-finger frothy white head with good retention and lacing.
S: Aroma is lacking with citrus notes of lemon and red grapefruit and accented by floral character and not a whole lot else.
T: Flavor is also pretty flat but has a little more life with some grapefruit and lemon notes that poke through but overall tastes heavy on yeast esters but low on hop flavor. Low bitterness.
M: Smooth mouthfeel with low carbonation and medium body.
O: I compare hazy IPAs to the easiest to find and most affordable option I have locally which is Basic City Brewing Bask. Unfortunately, Ardent IPA X is not in the ballpark in either flavor or aroma.
Note: I edited my score based on the last can which was much improved from the other 3 in the 4-pack in aroma and flavor. I think Ardent has some consistency issues on packaging it needs to work on — the last can was excellent, the other 3 were decent but surpassed by numerous other local and nationally distributed beers. I don’t appreciate getting 1 decent can out of 4.
