Pours a slightly hazy, deep amber orange color with a 2-finger frothy white head. The head sticks around for quite a while but doesn't leave much lacing.

The aroma is very sweet, with quite a bit of doughy, bready malt present. I also get some tropical notes.

The flavor is, interesting, to say the least. There's plenty of piney hop bitterness followed by some sweeter citrus notes. Has a very doughy malt character present, as well as a bitter, almost garlic-like flavor that hits on the back end. A tad spicy, but well balanced. Pretty complex flavors on this one, for sure.

The mouth is very creamy with a medium body and pretty good carbonation. The aftertaste is extremely bitter and lingers for quite a while after each sip.

Overall, a relatively complex and well-balanced beer. The garlic flavor is a tad distracting, but it doesn't detract from the other flavors completely. It's more of a subtle addition that gives a spicy compliment to the beer. Very far from the best IPA I've ever had, but it's still very solid and definitely worth checking out.

Bottle from Bert's
Hazy murky golden orange color with a huge frothy bubbly off white head with superb retention. Tangerine, tropical and citrus hop notes dominate the nose with a faint bready maltiness deep underneath. Flavor follows the aroma, but adds a bit of pine and a slight garlic bite to it. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a resinous but sweet almost sticky mouthfeel. I damn near inhaled this bottle, its good!
