Label says:

Boone County Brown is a rich brown porter style beer that is surprisingly easy to drink with a remarkably smooth finish. Leaving behind notes of dark chocolate and roasted coffee. With a full bodied caramel backdrop, Boone County Brown is a smooth and mellow beer that is beyond satisfying.

Very Nice. .. that description pretty much hits it. Very smooth mellow brown ale...I just wouldn't call it a porter.

Poured from the tap into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear chocolate brown with a medium sized tan colored head. The aroma is big on roasted malt and chocolate with some nut flavors tossed in. The taste is a nice mix of coffee, malt and cocoa. Overall, a very good beer from Bur Oak. My first from them.

Best damn brown I've had in a while. Pours out a nice translucent, reddish brown with a tan head. Smells nice and roasty with a touch of hoppiness underneath. Strong flavors of roasted coffee which is backed by a slight baked biscuit. Finishes with a touch of dark bitter chocolate, maybe some dark, dried fruit as well? Overall this beer has some great strong flavors while still being very sessionable. Damn good beer!

Clear brown body, sprite carbonation, very light tan head, some lace. Nose is sharp hop/coffee near-acidity, chocolate, as in real chocolate. Flavor is much warmer and less biting than the nose: coffee, realistic semi-dark chocolate on finish, lots of toasty malt. Sweetness prevails, but a mild bitterness is present throughout. Too highly carbonated, but medium body.
I love the rich, dark flavors while balanced by sweetness and noticeable but appropriate bitterness. Extremely realistic coffee and chocolate flavors, not just the malt-similar versions of each. This is repeat-worthy.

Pours a clear milk chocolate brown. Nice looking tan colored head of about 1.5 fingers. Head recedes quickly with minimal lacing left behind.

Aroma is chocolate and lightly roasted malt. A bit of nuttiness and caramel. Some coffee.

Taste is chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and toffee. All flavors are relatively mild. A bit of sweetness from the chocolate which is balanced by slight bitterness from the coffee.

This is not a very thick beer. Medium carbonation. Low ABV at 5.4% and no hint of the alcohol.

This is a good clean example of a Brown Ale. Very easy drinking and has nice balanced flavors that don't overwhelm.

The Boone Country Brown is solid. It poured a deep mahogany with no head and no lace. The scent is malty and bread. The taste is slightly sweet with good biscuit and malt. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a nice sessionable brown ale.

this is a really nice brown ale, perfect example of the style, bigger a little bit than a lot of them are, with a slightly more roasted malt base, just darker than the chocolate malt that defines the style. what makes it real unique is a cool amber middle which is just lighter than the chocolate malt, usually overlooked here, but adds some nice caramelized sweetness and depth, very cool malt complexion to it, but still insanely drinkable. hearty and satisfying (i really hate a thin watery one dimensional brown), but not heavy in any way. nice head and creaminess in a very toasty malty brown, with some light sweet chocolate and some bigger almost woody notes in there too. pretty in the glass but really easy going right from the can, its still real flavorful when its ice cold, but it does warm up better than most as well. my first beer from these guys is a nice one, its always cool to see a new brewery (new to me) pull off a classic style in such a rewarding way and with such distinction. at the end of the day its just a brown ale right? but its a really good one as they go...

Taste: roasted chocolate malt, mild earthy, coffee/toffee notes. malty nutty nose. Dark brown and mostly clear, with a big foamy head with a lattice of lace. Medium/Full body. Creamy smooth on the mouth-feel.

Beautiful semi-opaque brown color with a small tan head of foam. It has a nice roasted aroma with a hint of bread. It has a mild bitter bite to go with sweet caramel and toffee flavors.

Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a very dark brown color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is bready, malts, nutty. Taste is dark breads, malts, some hints of coffee, smooth and tasty. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is an interesting twist of the style.

Purchase in St. Louis. Poured from a 12oz can. Chestnut brown with a small head that quickly settled. A little bit of spotty lacing is left behind. Nice combination of roast and caramel in the aroma and flavor that makes this exceptionally drinkable. Comes in at an ABV that also compliments drinkability.

Slightly hazy chestnut brown with ruby highlights and a modest tan head that subsides quickly leaving only traces of lacing.

The aroma is caramel malt with hints of chocolate and pine.

The taste is in line with the aroma, mildly sweet caramel, a bit of chocolate, a touch of citrus and a pine resin hop finish.

Light/medium bodied, fairly smooth and very drinkable.

Altogether a decent and enjoyable brown ale.
