Batch #1 bottle
L: Pours a thick black and mocha stream that envelopes the glass and generates a thick sandy head
S: Toasted hazelnuts, peanut butter, and a bit of bourbon
T: Decadent and creamy Nutella spread over a liquid lattice of dark cocoa, milk chocolate, almond butter, and peanut butter
F: Surprisingly thick for a Cycle stout, which I've found to err on the thinner side - not BCBS/TG thick, but medium bordering on heavy
O: After aging for a little more than a year I finally popped this one and man, it was an absolute dessert in a glass. Hazelnuts dominate obviously, but supporting scents and flavors of chocolate, mocha, peanuts, and bourbon abound. This was a killer stout and one I'm glad they made again!

Trademark Dispute snuck up on me at Forager's Breakfast Nook release party - I was caught completely by surprise, and unfortunately a bit drunk at the time. My palate thus already being wrecked, I was still amazed by how hazelnut forward this beer is - the barrel presence tends to disrupt my taste buds and ability to pick out (specifically) nutty flavors... but that was not the case with this beer. Admittedly, the hazelnut is more present in the nose than in the taste (to my perception), but it's still delicious, rich, and quite forward. There's not as much bourbon as I'd hoped, but the richness is no doubt enhanced by the barrel and the bourbon.
I really wish that we had a brewery on par with Cycle in Minnesota. I'll continue to visit Tampa whenever I can!
