This one pours a dark and creamy looking black color, with a small head, and no lacing.

This smells like a melted ice cream in a waffle cone- there's authentic strawberry, vanilla cake frosting, chocolate syrup, spicy oak, and caramel.

This is fairly absurd, honestly. There's very little actual rum character, and no heat at a few years old. It feels like melted ice cream, as there's just loads of creamy vanilla and milk sugar here. I get waffle cone, melted ganache, cream, and strawberry filling. Strawberry can be fake tasting in beer. Luckily, this is not. This is just lovely.

This is thick, creamy, and chewy, with a good level of drinkability. The beer was gone from the glass before I knew what happened.

This is possibly the best Cycle beer that I've ever had. It's certainly the best Neapolitan-inspired beer that I've ever tried.

650ml bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark cola brown body, fairly opaque and almost black. Also even has a bit of leg to it as well. Smell is rich neapolitan ice cream, with vanilla, chocolate and strawberries. It's about on the level of the original Rare Scooop as far as aroma goes. The rum lurks in the background, and it is distinctly different than the bourbon presence of the previous iteration. However, the flavour isn't quite there, as the boozy rum seems to overwhelm the notes of chocolate, caramel, strawberry and vanilla. It never quite comes around and makes a complete revolution here as the original does. It becomes more of a boozy rum chocolate cake. Still pretty good, nevertheless. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, slightly thinner than expected, but still substantial with a bit of rum heat on the finish. I think the rum overwhelms the adjuncts, which is saying a lot for the amount of adjuncts they would have had to put into this beer.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2017, blue session. Aroma is quite boozy with pungent liquor and some wood notes. Taste has some apple like esters, cacao, spicy alcohol and dark chocolate. Finish is more bitter with roasted malt notes.

Deep brown to black with a minor heads that fades to nothing.

Nose is strawberry and chocolate, vanilla and booze as it warms, and a bit of malt.

Taste is similar - intermingled strawberry, chocolate, vanilla with a bit of hazelnut, minor rum spice, barrel, and minor sweetness.

Mouthful is medium and creamy. Carbonation is average to a bit below.

A really solid rum barrel beer. The neapolitan character is nicely captured here and accented by rum. Hard to find much wrong with this except that it could (possibly) be heavier. I would highly recommend trying this.

650 mL bottle. Black inky body. Smells of vanilla, chocolate, a hint of that sorta fake strawberry aroma. Some rum and nutty malts. Tastes much better than it smells. Tastes more normal. Chocolate. Rum. Some oak. Vanilla and a hint of strawberry. Tastes like the ice cream combination as it should. The finish is all alcohol. Heavy, but not as sweet as I remember Rare Scooop being. I didn’t have high expectations, so I’m not sure what to think. It isn’t great, but it’s drinkable, unlike Rare Scooop, and pretty tasty.

There are a lot of beers that don't deserve the hype. This is NOT one of them! This is absolutely delicious in all respects. Gigantic nose, rich bold chocolate, hazlenut, vanilla, strawberry, etc. etc. It's a rainbow of flavor and smells. Love it.

Deep brown, no head. Strawberry on the nose, perhaps slightly artificial but the good kind. Layers of vanilla and strawberry, also dipping into chocolate notes, then rounding out once again with strawberry on the finish. Really nice drink with great subtleties. All the adjuncts play off each other and work well together. Great beer!

S: wow! The strawberry shines!
T: like the nose. All 3 flavors shine with the strawberry being front and center.
F: smooth and creamy, with the rum barrel becoming know.

Wow I could smell this one before it got anywhere near me. Pretty much a melted cone of Baskin-Robbins in a glass. I liked the original Scooop, but this one was better. Had to wait in line an hour and a half for a 5 ounce pour, but I savored each and every one of those ounces!

Hard to play favorites between this one and the original bourbon one. So glad @mpontiakos forced the issue on the trade to snag it after @brians52 screwed the pooch on the original. Rum drenched ice cream... just heavenly.

This is a great follow up beer to Scooop. Straight ice cream smell on the nose. Strawberry ice cream for f*cking days followed by vanilla and chocolate. The rum made this interesting (in a good way) that made this really enjoyable. Cheers to Cycle and 3 Sons.

Another strong, complex, ice creamy amazing beer from cycle. The rum is very pronounced, yet complimentary to what was already a really amazing beer. Thankful to have had this one!

I was a huge fan of Scoop, RareR crushed expectations. After BrianS52's faux-pas on Scoop, I was not going to let this gem pass me by. Highly recommend, flavors are all present and the rum complements nicely.

Oily black with a thin mocha film dying to a thin ring.

Smell is really roasty, but also features vanilla, hints of strawberry, and tons of carnival-style brown sugar kettle roasted nuts.

Thick, sticky and waxy walnut come through first and foremost on the palate, so much so it might as well come in on the finish as well, with milk chocolate, dry cocoa, and licorice.

Boozy, fairly complex, bittersweet, and not too cloying.

I've actually had brews that hit the Neapolitan flavors more prominently, and they also barrel age it, all low key like--see Saugatauk's entries. This was tasty in small sips, but worth all the trouble and deserving of all the hype? That's an easy no.

L: Dark mocha and mahogany hues with a thin sandy head
S: Just awesome - straight Hershey's chocolate syrup and fudge with a slight trace of vanilla bean
T: Reminiscent of Rare Scooop and fully captures the Neapolitan beer ice cream vibe with a nice touch of rum barrel aging. Milk chocolate up front that is complemented by candied strawberries and vanilla.
F: Thick, chewy, and moderately carbed
O: Loved the follow up to Rare Scooop. The rum barrel provides a nice flavor contrast to the bourbon barrel in the original beer, but rest assured this beer stands on its own two feet. Thick, sweet, and just plain delicious - this stout delivered on all fronts for me.
