650 mL bottle. Black body. Smells of coffee. Coffee aroma is a little acidic. Some chocolate. Tastes of milk chocolate and coffee. Again, it's a bit acidic. Malty sweetness in the back end. Heavy and very sweet. Incredibly sweet. After a couple sips, it's overly sweet and undrinkable.

Cycle doesn't bottle too many beers that weren't barrel-aged, so this is definitely a notable bottle to try.

This is pretty black on the pour, with no real head or lacing to speak of.

The aroma on this is pretty ridiculous- with huge chocolate notes, dark fruit, vanilla, fruity coffee, slight bourbon, and light roast.

Despite the beer not being barrel-aged, I still get a hint of spirit here, from the coffee itself, which is nice. The coffee flavor is absolutely killer, some of the best coffee flavor I've gotten from a beer, ever. It's fruity, chocolatey, roasty, and rich, with a hint of vanilla as well. The base beer is pretty solid too, with that classic rich melted chocolate feel. This tastes pretty sweet, but it never gets all that overbearing for me.

This is thick and chewy, but doesn't get syrupy. There's a lower level of carbonation.

This was a really cool to try- I'd honestly rank it over some of the barrel-aged weekday beers from the same year- specifically Monday and Thursday.

A: Poured into a snifter to a black beer topped by a half finger of dense dark tan head which fades slowly to a collar around the edge of the glass
S: Smells of dark roasted malts, fresh coffee, with bitter dark chocolate and hints of caramel and vanilla.
T: Taste is big roasted malts up front followed by some dark chocolate covered espresso beans, caramel and vanilla with a hint of sweet bourbon. Lots of coffee throughout the drink on this one. Swallow is more coffee, light caramel and vanilla, dark chocolate and roasted malts. Very smooth and subtle bourbon notes on this beer.
M: This beer is big and silky on the palate with low carbonation that is adequate for the style while the beer has a drying finish.
O: Overall this is a phenomenal beer. Great coffee flavors on top of a very solid base beer makes this one a very enjoyable drink. Definitely worth a try if you can get your hands on it. Alcohol is very hidden as well behind the big chocolate and coffee notes.

Motor oil black under a very slow to build bubbly mocha foam that thickens with time then slowly settles to a thin blanket leaving some reaching arms of lace.

Smell is medium roast coffee and dark malt with dark chocolate Raisinets and cocoa.

Taste is rich, semi-sweet baker's cocoa and dusty coffee with a good roast and a tangy vanilla sweetness that increases with time to include that Raisinet note.

All of this comes courtesy of a rich and frothy round body that easily makes this the thickest Cycle stout I've ever had, while the semi-wet finish kinda shits the bed.

Another large thanks to my man greg who is always helping me stay up top date on cycle ticks. These guys have been on thier game in my opinion on the last few sets. this one is my first of the 18s and it really sets the stage. Big, ballsy, beefy, and the coffee is really unique. A slice of cake in a glass. Extremely well executed. One of the best coffee stouts ive had in a while. Nice rich body, little syrupy but it works.

Bottle Date: a few months ago
Palate Contaminants: other beer

Color is the very familiar dark brown. Carbonation shows up late, displaying a medium brown head. Doesn't last, though.

Smell is green coffee and molasses. Slightly metallic. Toasted (nearly burnt) malt.

Main tastes are fresh coffee and clove honey. The molasses are up there, and I'll call prunes, too. The taste is far richer than I expected with the nose. In fact, it's one of the richer brews I can remember. It's plenty sweet, but not quite cloying. A bit of alcohol late. It's like a smoky, non-carbonated Madeira wine.

Heavy weight for any type of beer, like really heavy. Perfect as a dessert. Not much carbonation, but I don't really miss it. More clove honey in the aftertaste, along with a melange of all sweet-smoky flavors.

This competes with tawny port or malmsey Madeira. I'm enjoying it, but I can see how 22 ounces might overload some folks.
