look: 4.5 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5
poured from a 22oz bomber into a snifter. pours pitch black with mocha ring of head around the edges. lots of air bubbles that eventually go away. smell is vanilla on vanilla with nice whiskey barrel character. tons of vanilla, slight bit of chocolate and no coffee. the no-coffee-smell-and-taste continues for the algorithm set. taste is a nice mix of vanilla, whiskey and chocolate. very rich and dessert-like. again, no coffee. feel is full with a moderate amount of carbonation. very tasty stout but obviously could have used some more coffee flavor and aroma to balance it out. still damn good.

Got to try thanks to the generosity of a stranger, thanks Mike! Pours languid black with no head. Smell is pure vanilla with french roast coffee, cream, chocolate and bourbon. Taste is so lush and pure, a vanilla bomb without seeming artificial or pure extract, plus throw in rich caramel, chocolate, bourbon, and dark roast coffee. Creamy, smooth, lush, and thick without feeling too heavy though a touch sweet. Amazing brew, what vanilla BCBS should have been

This one pours a very dark black color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing. These all look the same.
This smells like vanilla truffles, with chocolate and vanilla cream, along with slight bourbon, some caramel, and dark roast coffee.
There's a lot of vanilla here, naturally, and it's done authentically, and without adding too much overt sweetness. There's some very slight bourbon, but it's the usual barrel affair from these folks. The coffee is nowhere near as strong as the vanilla here.
This is medium bodied, chewy, creamy, and pretty drinkable, with a soft and lower level of carbonation.
This is on the middle to lower end for the week - but that still means it's excellent, as the weekday set this year was quite choice.
