This was our second stop as we headed south to visit all 3 Pizza Port locations. They had a more extensive selection than San Clemente. They had 11 of their own beers on tap including cask-conditioned Frank Double IPA and cask-conditioned Simco Pale Ale on the hand pumps. I give them a 5.0 for selection because they had 2 outstanding beers on the hand pumps when we were there. They were also selling bottles of Frank by the 4-pack or the 24-pack case.

We had their BBQ chicked pizza for lunch and it was quite good. The BBQ suace they layed down was spicy and sweet and did not taste like some cheap store-bought stuff. The service was excellent as well with bartender being very patient with our large order. This was the most like your average pizza parlor of all of the Pizza Port locations. There was a pop warner football team watching their game on the big screen and eating pizza while we were there. The atmosphere was pleasant and the people friendly (except for the jerk off who cut in line at the bar in front of us). Of the 3 this has to be my number one since they had the best beer selection of the day. Hand pumps have a special place in my heart (and on my taste buds).

One thing that stands out about all the locations is that they never charged us full menu price. We had a few tasters and they always threw in a few extras at no charge. And this happened at all 3 locations. I like it when a brewery is not stingy with their beer and they just love that people enjoythier beers.

Awesome place, and usually have lunch here on my way down to San Diego. Awesome tap list, great pizza, cool staff. If you're not into pies and brews at a chill pace, don't bother. Cheers!

I was in San Diego on biz and made a point to make a pilgrimage to PP as I'd not been there for a decade or longer. They're still holding strong, with more suds goodness on tap than I reasonably [and safely] could enjoy. I had a superb Citra IPA, a coffee/chocolate laced Stout and a dandy ESB. I appreciated PP's laid back scene and the friendly atmosphere; the place was full of families, bikers, beach hounds, and beer fiends just like like me. If that appeals to you, by all means, stop by. I'm sure it can get pretty crazy during the peak summer months but whatever delays you endure will be worth it.

Great atmosphere with great beers and selection. Food was good, but definitely made better by the beer. Would happily return and recommend to friends.

Another San Diego (area) stop. This place was a lot of fun. Food was very good, nice selection of beers and our bartender was very engaging. Spent a lot of time with us explaining how things ran and just talking about the brand itself. Would love to spend more time.

Lots of IPAs offered, had a hard time choosing, so I relied on the bar staff.

Ponto Session IPA 3.25 out of 5
Stratosphere IPA 3.75 out of 5

Food: Had a BBQ chicken pizza, which was excellent.

Negative:
It's located on the main drag, so park and walk
Bottle shop opened at 5pm

Great rotating beer selection and amazing pizza. What more can you ask for? Oh that's right, not having 100 kids running around while you're trying to enjoy them. I swear every time we visit there is a little league or soccer team celebrating something. We still put up with it because the food and beer are top notch. And the bottle shop/tap trailer next door is really nice as well. You can drink bottles on premise or to go which is so nice.

We stopped for a late lunch after hitting the beach with friends. Cool, California beach crowd with both locals and tourist. Beer hit the mark and food was as expected for a pizza joint.

Ordering food was no problem, but getting beer was slow at times. Server was knowledgeable on Wee Heavy's which you don't normally find.

Parking in the back. Worth a stop, but if crowded, it's probably not the best place.

Food & Beer was great. It's a beach joint and self-service so it was a pain to get beer refills when lines got longer, but a great spot overall.

There is no service. I don't get the novelty here - you wait in line to order food, you wait in line to order beer, you have to hustle for a table. Food is mediocre. Beer is solid. But why bother?? Blech.
