Notes:
Granny's Red Ale is an aromatic, malt driven Irish Red Ale focusing bringing through Vienna, Munich and aromatic caramel malts. The result is an enveloping malt aroma of biscuits, roast, caramel and a hint of cranberries.

Dark red colr, white foam, one finger.
Smell of red sruit, maltiness and fruitiness, a bit too full.
A bit more bakncaìed taste, malt present but not too much. A light biscuit and an unexpected hoppiness.
Then, some honey, oat cookies. A bit too heavy and not too elegant.

Pours clear amber in color with minimal head. Taste is dried cedar, toasted malt and caramel. Light bodied, low carbonation and sweet. Makes for a solid, slightly above average ipa. Decent but I prefer others in the style.

The colour is red-brown, the liquid clear. The two finger head is brownish, it sinks down to a thick lid leaving some lacing on the glass.
The smell is sweet and malty with notes of caramel and toffee. Some fruity bitterness. Red berries and rye bread. Hints of plastic in the background.
The taste is at firs dry and bitter. Growing notes of caramel and red berries/ripe apples. Light to medium body. Hay, raspberries, brown toast and prunes in the aftertaste. The finish is semi-sweet with red berries, distinct toffee and a touch of dried apple rings.
The carbonation is mild to medium strong; the bubbles small and short-lived. The liquid is semi-smooth and a little harsh.
Quite clean, distinct and balanced flavours.

Pours a super dark raspberry hue with a dense beige head and heavy lacing. Smells like a nice balance of malty sweet and fruity hops, along with an additional faint smokiness. Sweet upfront with a bittersweet, and again smoky, ending. Decent enough body for 4,4%. Not too bad at all.

If toffee apples were made into beer, they would taste like this. Got this Irish beer at an Irish pub in Disney Springs. Sweet, sweet, sweet.

Granny Mary's Red Ale presents itself as a fiercy lady, who doesn't believe in dolphins, but believes in good beer, And also defends that "you can't choose your family, but you can choose your beer. And we have chosen this one, at an Irish Pub, in Trier (Germany). This Irish Ale is absolutely magnificent! It is brewed by the Rye River Brewing Company (Kilcock, Ireland). The colour is red and shiny. Smell is lightly hopped and sweety. As for the flavour, malty, sweety and hints of caramell.

Pours a red color with pretty good clarity. Plenty of soapy head and lacing with consistant tightly beaded bubbles. The aroma is nutty with some caramel notes, just a touch of hops. The taste has more caramel, nut, and muted fruit. Just slightly bitter. The malts are lightly toasted and the beer has a richly well rounded malty taste. There is only a very slight balancing bitterness. Good hard water. Full bodied ale with ample medium carbonation. Overall, this is a great Irish Red. This brewery is nailing some European styles effortlessly.

The appearance showed a very dark deep reddish colour with a slight thin white head.
A really nice aroma of pale malts, caramel and toffee, lovely.
Taste: A light bodied taste of caramel that lingers on the tongue. Not a strong taste, a bit grainy, but an easy enough beer to drink, easy and light on the palate, and light bitter finish. Clean and nicely balanced.A good introduction to the McGargle Family range of beers.

Poured from the bottle.
The beer was transparent and had a deep copper hue. Slightly sweet, malty smell, sort of like sweet bread. Balanced bitter taste with a clean malt body and a faint barley aftertaste. Very balanced and very clean flavour.
Very typical red ale beer, but done very well.
Would I buy it again? Yes.
