A bit of gold colored plastic set atop a small wooden base. It was just a trophy. You probably got yours as a Cub Scout or maybe in Knothole baseball. And you gave it a place of honor on a shelf, where it would be joined by others as the years advanced. But now, when you remember that trophy you feel a rush of emotion, as you recall your moment of greatness. Or maybe the "get 'em next year" response if greatness fell short. And now, we’re proud of the unseen things that trophy represents – the work, the sweat, the hours of practice under a hot sun. That’s how we feel as we salute our home, Northern Kentucky. We call this special pale ale Trophy. It’s brewed in honor of the people of this great region. Because they’re the genuine gold at the top of the trophy. May it never tarnish.

Every batch of Trophy features a unique single hop. Each batch is only available for a limited time.

A: The beer is crystal clear amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that died down, leaving a patch of bubbles on the surface, and some streaks of bubbles running down the sides of the glass that fused into a collar encircling the edge.
S: Light to moderate aromas of floral hops and caramel malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but the hops are a little stronger with flavors of floral hops and notes of grassiness, the latter of which lingers into the finish. There is only a slight amount of bitterness. As the beer warms up, hints of apricots also become perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and a little crisp on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This APA might lack a little pizzaz, but for a single hop beer it's pretty good, albeit a little more oriented towards the maltier side.

There's no reward for simply participating here. Braxton offers their Palisades pale ale to those who are adventurous, supportive and fortunate enough to stumble upon it. With a base flavor that'll make any Londoner proud, its the taste of those palisades hops that truly reward those who imbibe.

Copper and bronze, and with a faint haze, the beer's quick froth boasts of a light ester profile and a vivid hop display that seems like stone fruit and marmalade with a savory English biscotti character. Toasty, deeply caramelized and toffee-like, the taste is rich with cashew and roasted peanut.

With that rich malt display holding firm, its sweetness is slow to dissolve. The Palisades hops rise with the tantalizing taste of pink grapefruit and bitter orange. A quick followup of apricot and mango join forces with the citrus and gives the middle palate a charming jammy quality. Trailing bitterness is sharp and peppery, offering a bright grassy taste with a herbal tea-like property and a resinous sprucy bite.

Medium-bodied and finishing semi-dry and semi-crisp, the ale's modest carbonation and persistent malt keeps the weight from complete dryness. Yet, the ale is a food-friendly taste for most all-American cuisine from cheeseburger to pizza. Its afterglow is of toasted nuts and a lingering peppery bitterness.
