The quality of brews from these folks has improved over time and this is a fine example of that premise. Clean, crisp and easy drinkin', this was very nice on the boat and on the deck on a hot summer night. Nice.

I got a can of this off the single shelf at a Kroger just down the road from south metro ice in Dayton, OH. It poured a clear orangish with white head that is leaving a nice lace. The scent had faint pine hop. The taste was nicely balanced for an ipa with pine hop character. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

Poured into a clear glass. Dark amber color that's hazy, thick head and moderate carbonation.

Smells citrusy, tangerine, orange, pineapple, some floral hints, and piney as well. Overall tropical.

Tastes like orange-pineapple juice and tangerines as well. There's a grapefruit peel aftertaste and piney flavor as well. Feels smooth and rich going down, and overall a mild bitter and dry taste.

This is good.

A: A cloudy amber color with a large white head.

S: Citrus and juicy tropical fruit, with tangerine rounding out the finish. Perhaps a bit of earthiness in the finish, as well as a good shot of sweetness.

T: Assertive bitterness up front, with mellow citrus, and tropical fruit coming out after. Finish is more bitter, with some resinous notes. Faint garlic or onion.

M: Medium with moderate carbonation, and a dry finish.

O: Overall a good beer, but it's like I've had this IPA a million times from every other brewery.

On tap in my home. Pours an amber orange which is slightly hazy into a fifteen ounce glass mug the same temperature as the beer.. Two finger white head that dissipates to a quarter inch steady rime. Very nice lacing.

The nose is ripe white grapefruit tempered by rich caramel malts. Touch of pine. Big citrus everywhere. Caramel malts provide a strong backbone.

Taste is big juicy citrus. Ripe grapefruit combined with some orange and lemon. Touch of piney bitterness. Hoppy citrus finish is medium dry.

Crisp and clean on the palate, Light mouthfeel with good carbonation. Well balanced throughout.

Great single IPA. Sets firmly in the middle of the road of IPA's which makes it a very drinkable brew for those that aren't into the Imperials.

Wow what an amazing beer! Gave the can a triple look and couldn’t believe it’s from KY. Completely underrated. Has musty hops and toasted caramel malts. At 60 IBUs, it’s the IPA sweet-spot. Canned from Total in Lexington KY.

If its worth doing, its worth doing right. The tinkerers of beer at Braxton Brewing wouldn't leave well enough along until the settled on this revamped IPA. A nod to the pacific northwest, a kiss of the tropics and a balance that fits right home in the Ohio Valley, Revamped IPA covers all the bases.

Bright amber and with a mild haze, the beer's near copper appearance is crowned with a frothy eggshell cap. A bold perfume of citrus, milder tropical and a hint of stone fruit carry the nose ahead of the crusty malt character of caramel, granola and graham cracker.

The beer's soul of malt is firm throughout while shedding a toasty and nutty complexion on the hops. As the sweetness relaxes, the citrusy taste of grapefruit, orange and lemon take the lead while nuances of passionfruit and pineapple frame a juicy tropic flavor. An herbal juniper and spruce finish is lightly peppery and resinous as the balance favors the hops, but barely.

Balancing similarly to contemporary pale ale, this "midwest" style IPA is a far cry from the west coast varieties as it's balance is nearly even keel, and similar to the scale and proportion of traditional English IPA. Medium through and through, the beer's medium length aftertaste is one of toast and pine.
