Wow - so yes this tastes like candy. It has a stork chocolate reisen taste to it. Nice cocoa and espresso bittering only slightly tempers the toffee and angle food candy core sweetness. A little slick although I think that is to its benefit

Dark roast coffee color with small cap.

Aroma of sweet dark toffee, dark chocolate, something like roast pecans with an overall impression of candy.

Taste on entry is not quite as sweet as the scent but the coffee, chocolate and overall roastiness come roaring forth. No hops that I could find but it doesn't need them. There is a confectionary candy presence that almost, but not quite, overcomes the roast bitterness but bitter wins out in the end.

Full texture with balancing carbonation.

A lovely dark coffee-chocolaty thing that the resident Guinness fan really likes.

This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a dark brown close to black color with a slim finger’s worth of off white head. There was barely any lacing. The smell had a big sweet milk chocolate and a bitter dark chocolate to combine and allow an indulgent amount of luscious caramel malts to invade nicely. The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors and combined nicely. A slight roastiness ends up rounding out to balance and lead into the aftertaste and enliven to the finish in a sticky sort of manner. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a sessionable to sipping aspect about it. The carbonation was barely there and this one moves silky along my tongue. Overall, this was a pretty good Double/Imperial Stout that I would have again.

Very dark with a faint aroma of sweet burnt sugar with some chocolate. Very thick and creamy mouthfeel. I expected it to be sweeter but I am glad it is not. Slightly sweet chocolate with a nice ending of burnt sugar and molasses. Pretty solid beer.

I'm not a beer expert, but have done a good amount of drinking. This stout was very black, and had a nice thick feel in my mouth. Very nice malty chocolate flavor. A nice level of sweetness, but not too much.
