Definition of a mediocre amber. Looks good as this is a very dark amber with a nice head and plenty of lacing. There is just little aroma to comment on. A bit of caramel and that is about it. Nothing that is a flaw in the flavor, other than it is boring. A sample pour would of been enough to tell me to choose something else but I got a 32oz crowler. Thanks Beerdrop. Good body and carbonation.

a slightly sweet, slightly hoppy amber ale, that despite being rather well made, falls into the category of been there done that before i really ever even get into it. dark for an amber, the rich caramel malts are obvious, a moderate candy sweetness to it as well. enough malt on this to stand up to most food, was great with a greasy park burger and fries from across the road, but likely wouldnt be so enjoyable without the grub. the hops on the back end are more than the style usually calls for, with even a little tropical fruit thing happening, but they dont quite get to even on the day. i like the clean feel, almost taste lagered even with all the sugar. its good beer, just less exciting than the others on tap at the pearl right now.
