16oz can served in a footed pilsner glass. Canned on 12/16/20. I think I bought it at Full Throttle Bottles.
Pours very dark black with a thick, surprisingly large, dark tan head. Not too much active carbonation. Smell is booze, vanilla, chocolate, a little chile spice and some cinnamon.
Taste is moderate chocolate sweetness for a second, then replaced with a roasty bitterness, leading into a dark coffee and mild chile flavor. Surprising amount of overall bitterness, which offsets the sweetness nicely.
Mouthfeel is thick and a little chalky. Overall, very good beer.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a thin, fizzy dark khaki head that dissipates to nothing with a fine ring of bubble around the glass. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, cinnamon, bourbon and a touch of hot pepper. Flavor is dark toasted malt, bourbon, cinnamon, cocoa and light vanilla. Mild hot pepper burn in the finish. Medium bodied with light creaminess and sharp carbonation. Checks off the chocolate, chili and spices from Mexican hot chocolate, but does not really integrate them to pull off a close resemblance. Good malt body and bourbon influence from the barreling. Spicy and moderately chocolatey, works well as a bourbon barreled stout with interesting adjuncts. Fine lingering spicing, cocoa and bourbon.
