750 mL bottle. Hazy orange with no head. Nose has that little bit of bubble gum yeastiness. Light grape and a bit of acidity. Tastes really nice. White grape, a little green apple tartness, oak. Grainy malt profile. Light body with medium carbonation. Delicious.

Bottle sticker says 11/24/15.

A- A soft and hazy straw yellow liquid hits the glass and supports a small, billowy head. The head is there and gone just as quickly, leaving just a trace of bubbles and very little lacing, if any, to be had. The body of the beer is a soft, somewhat faded straw yellow and hazy. Not an overly carbonated beer as you sometimes see with the style.

S- Hay and barnyard funk greet the nose first as you take a whiff. A soft bitterness is in there as well, but is quickly erased by the chardonnay grapes. The grapes display their light and somewhat citrusy flavor, typical of the wine style. On the back end of the scent, there is also a touch of the buttery flavor that the wine varietal displays as well. Citrus smell picks back up a little bit as the scent fades away.

T- As the beer hits the tongue, you are immediately taken aback because there is a moderately tart punch meeting you. The tartness is led by a full citrus circuit, almost like licking a lemon or lime. The grape is in there, although it takes a backseat to the sour flavors in the beer. The subtleness of the grape in the scent is completely gone in the taste, contributing a little bit to the tartness and providing more depth to the overall flavor. The light funk from the scent is also almost completely gone as well except for a touch at the very end of the drink that is still there. The fruit and tartness that dominate the front and middle of the drink are also lingering well after the drink ends.

M- As I have some to expect with this style of fruited saison, it is either going to feel like champagne or a chewy marmalade on the palate. This one feels more like the former. It is light and pretty highly carbonated, as well as easy to drink. The drink is pretty thirst quenching with its tartness as well.

Overall, this beer was a bit of a mystery to me. I guess I was expecting a soft and funky, white wine style saison. What I got was a tart and somewhat aggressive saison that actually aligns more with my preferences for the style. This is a very good beer and my only critique is that I wish is displayed a little more on the grapes in the flavor.

750ml bottle of the first release. Served in a minisnifter glass. Pours a light copper, hazy body, one finger white head, good retention, some lacing. Smells of tart lemon, light dry white grape must, a bit of mild nail polish, minerals, touch of graininess. Flavour is similarly dry, white grape must, oak, minerals, mild grainy sweetness. Not superbly complex, but an unique, tasty brew with some of the Casey house flavours. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, tart and dry, yet a bit creamy with a nice musty grape finish. A solid fruited saison, somewhat subtle but has a nice complexity to it. I would like a bit less of the nail polish, but perhaps that'll go away with time.
