Basalt CO Whiskey - 12/16/15.
This one pours a light dull yellow color, with a small head, and a little bit of lacing.
There's a hint of whiskey on the nose, and some damp earthy tones, along with lemon rind, grape must, and citrus.
The whiskey barrel is a light touch here - it adds a bit of leathery sweetness that melds with the intense rindy and earthy funk here. There's lemon, white grape, and some plum, maybe some citrus.
This is light bodied, very tart, but not overwhelmingly so. It's a slow sipper.
This held up very well for being over five years old.

Bottle: Poured a hazy yellow color ale with a medium size head with limited retention. Aroma of tart and sour notes with some oak and some weird notes of what I presumed to be whiskey. Taste is a mix of tart notes with some oak, some medium intense acidic notes with some light funky notes and some off whiskey notes. Body is about average with OK carbonation. Interesting and complex but lacking some attenuation and not sure whiskey was such a good idea.
