Notes: Collaboration with Side Project Brewing

First came Leaner. Then came Jammy. Now Velvet, our apricot collab with Side Project. Over 5 pounds per gallon Colorado Perfection apricots. We've never used so many apricots in a blend. Last year, we had 4 different apricot blends that never carbonated. I can't explain how much sleep I lost worrying about this beer carbing. But we figured our process out and this. is. good.

Had this at sheltonfest last year. Tart, juicy, and acidic. Probably too sour for my liking, but tons of apricot flavor. A small pour of this was good and I could probably have a glass, but that's it.

Presentation: Draft, served in a Munique glass.

Appearance: There's no head, just a thin ring of foam and almost no lacing. It's a murky, bright gold color.

Smell: There's a lot of fruity apricot and lemon with some floral notes and it finishes with a funky, musty oak and yogurt smell.

Taste: It starts with a big helping of funky yogurt up front and then it transitions to tart and fruity flavors of apricot, blackberries and lemon.

Mouthfeel: It's extremely smooth and creamy with low carbonation .

Overall: An awesome beer in every single aspect. A must try for lovers of sour beer.

This one pours a slightly hazy golden orange color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells fairly tart and acidic, with a heavy-duty amount of apricot here- just waves of apricot flesh, and tart apricot juice, with a candied lemon sort of aroma as well.

The taste on this is similarly incredible. It's probably one of the more tart Casey beers I've had- they are generally more subtly sour and tart. Nonethless, the amplified tartness only accentuates the mega amount of apricot that was added here. There's some fruity funk, too, and a touch of bitterness. This is exceptional, and it represents the apex of fruited beer.

This is soft, fruity, and feels light on the palate, with a nice soft level of carbonation. It's really, really drinkable.

This is honestly stunning. Probably the best Casey beer that I've ever had.
