This is a session porter. So much flavor for such a low ABV brew. New England Brewery never disappoints. You can taste the coconut and the chocolate from the cocoa nibs. I highly recommend!

32oz growler into a Gandhi-Bot tulip. Thanks Matt!

A: Black body, clear brown highlights. A straight, steady pour easily produces a two-finger head of dense khaki foam that resides slowly and leaves abundant lace. Gorgeous.

S: Delicate. Cocoa powder, vanilla, roasted malt, and a hint of earthiness. Not much coconut presence at all, unfortunately, but a very nice aroma for a session porter.

T: Opens with light roast - a bit of coffee, solid dark chocolate. Midway through it gets a bit sweeter, with vanilla and cocoa giving it a bit of a malted chocolate milkshake flavor. The finish is clean and crisp, with some light bitterness and a lingering (and delicious) vanilla overtone. I'm still not seeing the coconut, but I'm loving everything else about this beer.

M: Soft medium-light body. Appropriate for the style.

O: I was disappointed not to find the particular flavor promised by the name, but once I stopped fixating on the coconut and started enjoying it more simply as a well-crafted porter I was hooked. This is both drinkable and flavorful, exactly what I look for in a dark low-ABV brew. Always a pleasure to try a new NEBCO offering!

Cheers!

32oz growler filled at the brewery hours ago. Pours a black color with dark brown hues and a half inch of light brown head. Good amount of lacing. The aroma is chocolatey with hints of toasted coconut. Touch of espresso. The taste is more of the dark chocolate and cocoa. Light notes of coconut with more of the vanilla flavor coming out towards the end. Cocoa and espresso finish. Very drinkable but I am still shocked this is under 5%. Light mouthfeel. Overall, a flavorful and easy drinking Porter I would grab again.

Had at the brewery yesterday, pours a very dark color, near black, with a fluffy tan head that fades to a ring. Nice sweet aroma, chocolate and vanilla on the nose. Taste errs on the side of a sweet Porter. Big chocolate notes from the nose are here, some dark malts play around. Vanilla isn't too detectable. Finishes sweet with hints of coconut. Overall a delightful beer, great concept and execution, not too heavy on the coconut. Kind of like a candy bar, well done.

Pours a dark, dark brown color with a finger of khaki head. Leaves a fair amount of lacing as the head dissipates.

The aroma brings tons of dark malts, vanilla, and roasted chocolate. Barely any coconut can be detected.

The vanilla just takes over the flavor. There's some chocolate and maybe a slight hint of toasted coconut, but it's all drowning in a vat of pure vanilla. Way too sweet.

The feel is light bodied with moderate carbonation. Smooth, but a bit watery.

Overall, an overly sweet porter that just doesn't do much for me. If you like extremely decadent beer with a ton of vanilla you'll love this.

L: Pitch black body with a crema- colored head. When poured hard the head creates a creamy head similar to an ice cream float.
S: Chocolate malts dominate the nose, the coconut doesn't really show up in the aroma until the beer warms up.
T: Wow! This sort of beer isn't typically my thing but holy @#!* this is tasty! The toasted coconut is so on point. It's really impressive how well the flavors are balanced.
F: Very decent body, silky with an appropriate carb.
O: I wasn't overly excited to try this beer, and only picked it up because my wife was really digging it at the brewery. Bad call, because this is a fantastic beer. I love when a beer surprises me like this!
