2013 vintage. Bottle #525, poured into a Dogfish Head tulip
L: Inky black pour with thin 'barely there' head. Modest ring of lacing.
S: Sweet and boozy... roast, bourbon, vanilla, and char.
T.F: Sweet roasted malts and burned sugars. Vanilla and bourbon... dark chocolate, light espresso, and char. Boozy... bourbon still present after 6 years. Medium bodied and smooth... creamy carbonation and mouthfeel. Bitterness from the roast mellows out the sweet. Sticky on the tongue.
O: An outstanding bourbon barrel stout. Aged fantastically well... would love to do a vertical.

Dark, no light bleed. Tan heads, full thin film hanging around now as I type.
Nose is apple, brandy, oak, coffee, demerara, malt, some booze.
Full, and punchy upfront. Malt sugar. Toffee, coffee, caramel. Dark fruit stewed with brandy. Rum filled chocolates.
Finish is initially short, booze upfront makes what follows feel sedentary. This quickly changes though and each sip compounds in measure of oil and malt, back and forth. Ultimately, after about 5 sips now, warming and I can feel the booze softening my edges.

Rose-tinted black with a large mocha head with churning bubbles in the center. Decent retention, regardless, and nice rings of lacing.
Chocolate, roasted malts and umami in the nose.
The taste follows, but with vanilla, marshmallow and strong alcohol burn added to the mix. Hints of dark fruit. Bitter, burnt chocolate aftertaste.
Thick, chewy mouthfeel. Lively carbonation.
Great mix of dark flavors and marshmallow. Recommended.

The light brown head dissipated quickly over the black stout, which I guess is normal for BA stouts. No lacing to speak of.
The aroma was faint for me, I did get roasted malts and some chocolate.
The taste, as one might expect, was bourbon forward but it wasn’t overwhelming. The chocolate malts came into play as well as some plums. Very nice combination of flavors.
The feel was good, quite appropriate for the style. Lightly viscous, you could slam it but why?
OA, this was really good, but I think the balance in the non-BA is just a little better.

Pours a deep brown with minimal head and lacing.
The smell is great - chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, and dark fruits.
The taste is char, chocolate, tons of dark fruit, and more chocolate especially on the finish.
The mouth feel is medium body and low carbonation. There's some bitterness on the finish.
Overall this is very enjoyable - good flavors, not overall sweet.

Herbal bitters dominate the flavors -- lots of gentian root, licorice, sage, bittersweet chocolate. Bourbon character is there but doesn't contribute a ton. Had alongside PB Trooper and like that one a lot more

This is one of the most amazing beers I’ve ever had the pleasure of drinking. Incredibly smooth, sweet and malty. Imagine a chocolate filled with bourbon. Just delicious. Not the greatest to have with a meal but phenomenal to have *as* dessert. A 5* brew without question. Another fantastic beer from NEBCO.

EBF Last Saturday Solid black in color with a thin tan head that persists. Rich chocolate and roasty maltiness with some light earth. Huge barrel and warming alcohol. Body feels a bit thin
