L: Hazy gold-orange body with a thick white head that leaves a generous lacing.
S: Pithy citrus aromas, funky Belgian yeastiness, bready malts
T: Savory malts up front finishing sweet and citrusy thanks to the yeast and hops coming through.
F: A little sharp on the tongue, perhaps even a bit hot. However, the beer drinks really well and the body is full but not thick. The balance is really unique and it just seems to work.
O: This is a solid Belgian style for hop heads and Belgian enthusiasts. It has the malt backbone a Belgian should have but offers something extra.

Received this as an extra on a trade a while back. I don't know if it might have been lingering too long in my fridge but it seems a little less than I would expected. Poured in glass from a can.

Appearance: Lots of white fluffy head that remains for a while throughout the pour. Color is golden hazy yellow with a slight bronze note.

Aroma: Mild Belgian yeast aromas, some candied fruits and clove like spices, reminds me of a tripel in a way.

Taste: Same type of flavor notes appear in the flavors, but does have a more dominant spice note in the flavor. Kind of sweet but has a clean finish.

Overall: I am not a huge fan of this style in general but some of the original styles from Belgium have surprised me. This is not one of those though. Sometimes American brewers can do magical things with Belgian styles and other fall short, this one to me falls on the short side. Its not a bad beer but certainly not one I would go after again, when there are so many amazing offerings out there these days.

Average. That's a 3 in my book, not a 3.75. Sorry.

I freely admit I am not a huge fan of the Belgian yeast strains, but this one suited me just fine.
