Poured from a 12 oz can into a tulip glass.
Pours a dark cola brown color with a finger of creamy khaki head. The head has good retention, leaving a ring of lacing as it settles into a thin sheet.
The aroma brings notes of dark roasted malts and baker's chocolate. There's some subtle hints of brown sugar and caramel with the foggiest idea of nuttiness.
The flavor is extremely roasted and surprisingly hoppy. There's notes of dark roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, and fresh dough. There's also some notes of caramel and toffee with a citrusy, piney finish.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Nicely creamy and smooth with a dry finish.
Overall, this is a great Porter that's full of flavor and drinkability. It's pretty straightforward but it's done very well.

12 oz. can won in auction. Very nice roasty flavor with just a bit of citrus happiness. Drinks easily, pretty neutral finish. Smooth and a bit creamy. Get it if you can.

Pours black with a finger and a half of caramel foam. Head retention is good. Aroma is roasty, toasty, nutty, caramely, bready malts with bits and pieces of burnt sugar and toffee. Flavor profile is toasty, roasty, nutty, caramely, bready malts in a splendid display. Toffee and molasses come on a little towards the end, sweetening the experience. Mouth feel starts out watery with only a minute amount of texture to it. As it sits on the palate, it transforms into a slightly more grainy, and thus robust, texture. It has a medium thickness. Overall, big malts with a little sweetness carry this beer through with splendid balance. It's easy to drink and session, while still providing a blast of dark notes.
