Look: Small head, light orangish yellow. Hazy, but not turbid.
Smell: Tropical fruity hops and citrus (orange)
Taste: Follows the smell, and has some pineapple starts sweet and ends with a resiny bitterness
Feel: Medium mouthfeel and carbonation, leaves a hoppy resiny coating
Overall: A very good beer

batch 3, 32oz growler filled Saturday, 12/21/13. Consumed Tuesday, 12/24/13.

A - Vibrant orange-reddish hazy body with a couple finger of off-white head. Drops absolutely enormous amounts of lacing all over the glass behind it - the greatest lacing I've ever seen from a beer, bar none.

S - Pine is the first thing that hits the nose, followed by tropical fruit: guava, mango, stonefruit. Bitter orange and lemon as it opens up. Little bits of weed/cat pee. Biscuity malt very noticeable in nose - this is different than prior batch. Pretty unbelievably amazing.

T - Piney and resiny, not normally something I get from Citra. Middle of the flavor is grapefruit, followed by a wonderful fading out of amazing tropical fruit, including a lot of passionfruit and mango. Delicious. Mouth feels "fuzzy" - I imagine this is the genesis of the name. Again, very noticeable biscuity malt. Almost tastes like it has a blonde ale behind it rather than a pale base, there's a lot of malt flavor but not thick or sweet, just flavor.

M - Light and thinner than I'd like. Plenty carbonated. Incredibly crooshable. No cloying sweetness or ashy bitterness left behind, just happiness. Could probably drink a gallon and a half of this in a night easily, and that's not an exaggeration.

O - The King Stay The King.

New batch from the new place

A) Nice slightly cloudy orange. Foamy head that quickly dissipates.

S) Citrus and floral notes.

T) Love this! Peach, Mango for the sweeteness and it is followed up with some pithy grapefruit zest. Outstanding.

M) Medium carbonation

O) Excellent beer that I wish was brewed more often!

To me, this is the ever-elusive NEBCo. offering. Gandhi is great, but it's available relatively regularly. This is the beer that had me thinking NEBCo. could give Hill a run for their money, based on the reviews anyway. As such, I and many others opted to wait for around an hour for a portion of their final keg this December. At $10/2L growler, they've already got Hill beat by far. I must admit I come into this review with Susan in mind, which is my second highest review (4.99) and comes in at $16/2L. I judge this a fair comparison considering their close proximity in ratings and geography.

A: Pale yellow/orange, filtered. Very nice.

S: Hoppy & citrusy, as expected. Lives up to the hype and then some.

T: And the pièce de résistance. Much more bitter than I had expected, not too much so however. The citrus for me comes after the upfront bitterness that is floral and not citrusy. The citrus is significant yet more subdued than I had expected. Not quite as citrus-forward or balanced as Susan. However, still spectacular.

M: Spot-on for an AIPA.

O: Well, although I must admit I'd take Susan over Fuzzy here, this brew is still undoubtedly among if not ahead of NEBCo and Connecticut's best. And, for that alone, they should be immensely proud. I never thought I'd see Hill-esque lines for beer in my home state but I sure enough did. And it was largely because of this beer. If you can get your hands on it, seize the opportunity. Going to savor the 2L I have.

Been a long wait to try FBD and it is everything I had hoped. Pour that is cloudy gold with spotty white lace that sticks around for the whole glass. Smell really aggressive citrus and some floral. Taste is grapefruit, lemon peel, orange with a bit of grass toward the end of the sip. Feel is creamy with a medium carb and a good body than fully coats mouth leaving a semi dry finish.
