On-tap poured into a shaker pint.

The menu describes it as a "mild lager." Definitely not a Hefe, maybe an American wheat?

A- Very thin head when presented at the table. Just a white lacing really. The body is quite clean compared to a traditional wheat beer (maybe it really is lagered) and is a golden-copper with medium-light carbonation. Not much left on the glass.

S- Not a ton of aroma. Mostly sweet caramel, maybe a little honey.

T- pretty light and delicate. Sweetness as suggested in the aroma. Again with the caramel. Some black pepper sneaks in with a little warmth. Clean and refreshing.

M- Lightness stays just the right side of "thin." Lighter carbonation. Dry and clean.

O- This was definitely a "go-to" many years ago while attending college in town. Not quite as inspiring as I remember (probably based more on my current tastes than any recipe change, but who knows?). Decent, not great. Very drinkable, crisp and clean. I could see putting back a couple on a hot day, but it probably wouldn't be my first choice of Bilbo's current lineup.

Pours a dark orange, bubbles cling to the side with a thin tan head and larger bubbles. The nose is faint and grainy, barely any yeast with some strong phenol and a faint lemony hop. The taste has more phenol, off putting, fair amount of lemon and strong grain in back. Lighter body, strong carbonation and a bit of an empty finish.
