A: deep amber color, brilliantly clear, with a short lived pure white head.
S: pumpkin spice, slightly malty and sweet.
T: sweet and spicy. Strong malt backbone. I taste some bitterness from hops but no noticeable hops flavor.
M: medium body.
O: nice, smooth, and easy drinking for a spice beer. I could probably drink 2 in a row and at 7.7% ABV that's doable, if only the 2.

Poured into an Elysian pumpkin snifter. Pours a medium orange amber with a one finger off-white head with good retention and solid lacing. Aroma of lightly caramel malt, pumpkin, pumpkin pie spicing, particularly cloves, cinnamon, ginger and nutmeg.Flavor follows, with caramel malt, pie spicing (clove, ginger, allspice and nutmeg) and a mild, but distinctive pumpkin character. Spicy finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A solid and enjoyable pumpkin ale, maybe a little spice forward, but it does have squash character, which is what I hope for. Spice mixture is spot-on. So far I'm batting zero for my traditional Halloween night and favorite pumpkin beer, the Great Pumpkin from Elysian. It was only available in local stores in mixed cases, and that was just too much extraneous beers for me. Not a single bomber anywhere. The closest Elysian taphouse is gone now, so may not be able to check the source. Maybe no single bottles at all. Fortunately, I got two cans of Pump Action and it will substitute this year, although I won't be able to get this every year in my area. This would be in my top 5 pumpkin ales, well done, if a little spice forward.

Canned September 2nd, from Beer Drop.
It pours a clear deep gold with a fine layer of foam.
It smells of pumpkin spices, with a sharp aroma that catches my attention but not in a good way.
Good spices of pumpkin but again, I am getting a sharpness of spice or whatever that doesn't agree with me. Good enough mouthfeel. I am not a fan.

Copper to faint amber colored. No head but there’s aggressive carbonation bubbles erupting at the top. The aroma is of pumpkin pie spice, ginger, and nutmeg. I’m tasting a lot of cinnamon, ginger, pumpkin, and clove. The mouth is busy with carbonation and warm with spices.

Poured from a can. Darker caramel in color with a white head and some lacing. Smells of pumpkin and cinnamon. Taste follows the smell with a good mix of flavors that hides the slightly higher avb.

Poured from a 12oz can into a Montauk pint glass.
Look is a cloudy hazy amber orange with a head that dissipates quickly.
Aroma is a buttery spice.
Taste is a spicy cinnamon malty beer.
Good classic pumpkin beer.

Poured from a 12oz can with a canned on date of 7/24/19; into a pint glass.
Appearance- a semi cloudy orange, with lots of bubbles; head is a thin, sudsy off white that leaves ring upon ring of lacing.
Smell - rich pumpkin pie, coriander and a hint of cinnamon!
Taste- weaker than the nose, though the flavor matches.
Feel - mild body, drinkable even with the 7.7%.
Overall- nice, strong pumpkin beer that is a treat on a cold fall day.

LOOK - quite hazy deep orange/gold color - 1 finger head - low retention
SMELL - some hops but barely - caramel - vegetables - pie spices
TASTE - kick of tart fruit and slight bitterness (maybe from hops?) - slightly sweet - caramelly - earthy/vegetably - lots of pumpkin spices - maybe too heavy on the clove and ginger - it gets almost 'hot' like a pepper beer
FEEL - medium bodied but seems to go a bit flat - fruit / veggie beer tend to not have as much retention
OVERALL - this is a decent pumpkin ale - labelled as an Imperial on the can but doesn't seem to be that boozy - a little too heavy on the spices (clove and ginger) - could have used some more cinnamon and nutmeg - decent beer for sure but not my favorite pumpkin brew - I would buy again though
