On tap at Blackbelly Restaurant (Boulder, CO), served in a shaker pint glass. Bright golden yellow with a froth of white foam. Aromas of citrus, pine and tropical fruit. Bursting juicy flavors, equally pine and lemon citrus as much as tropical and melon. Closes cleanly bitter and dry. Medium body and moderate mouthfeel. A nice WC IPA from the foothills of the Rockies.

From a single 12 oz can. piney bitterness, some grapefruit rind, some tart juiciness, solid but unobtrusive bready and caramalt backbone. Looks great in the glass, kind of glowering hazy apricot, with a good 1 1/2 finger head. Nose is a little more muddled than the taste. Feel is great: crisp, bitter, moderate body, dry at the end. Used to find beers with this flavor profile all the time before neipas took over. But this one is a fine example of the type: not too heavy on the grapefruit and the bitterness is bright instead of heavy and sticky.

A top WC IPA in Colorado. Pine, citrus, bitter, dry and clear. If that is your jam, this is where it’s at.

I got a can of this beer from my bestie from Charlotte, NC whom got it from a beer of the month club mixed pack. It poured a hazy golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had dank ripe fruit notes with subtle pine hop highlights. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dank mild citrus fruit base and gentle bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

12 oz can, dated 9/14/20, into Prairie Rastal.

Look : Just a nearly perfect honey-orange glow with tinges of blonde. The head is tall and creamy and white. Webbed lacing from its 3 finger head just obliterating the glass. It doesn't get much better than this.

Aroma : Strawberries and mangoes waft up to the nose with a wonderful crisp caramel malt base behind it. Hints of lychee, pot, pear, grapefruit, and melon. It is just so juicy and bright and balanced, it's incredible.

Flavor : Lemon zest starts this off in a big way, massive...with some grapefruit zest not far behind it. A nip of ruby red grapefruit. Notes of clipped grass, cannabis, and woody pine follow with some orange oil and orange flesh. The caramel malt lays underneath but gets lost in the hop assault. The bitter resins hang on mercilessly, coating the tongue with perfume. As it gets further away from ice cold, the caramel malt breathes a little more and you get a bit more pipe bowl.

Feel is crisp and tight, with a huge resinous finish. Not necessarily clean but not dirty either. Scrubs the tongue quite a bit. Lots of resin. Moderate alcohol heat. Numbing. Lots of resins. Did I say that? I'll say it again.

Overall, a palate scrubbing wonder child that is worth a hard look. I enjoyed this beer, but it's kind of a one-and-done for me. The look and smell were out of this world, but once it hit my lips it was obvious nothing else was going to be tasted on this numb tongue for a good while. Those hop oils are just downright punishing. Still worth a gander.

Price paid : $1.89 / can
Would buy again : maybe

Poured into a tulip.
Look: Hazy gold. Got about 2 fingers of nice white creamy foam. Persisted for a while. When it finally thinned out it left a nice frothiness on the surface. Nice lacing as it was drank.
Smell: I can't discern one hop variety from another but you get a nose full of hops. Pine, resin and citrus. It is awesome.
Taste: Again I can't tell different hop varieties but Ii get pine and citrus on top. Many delicious hops flavors come in with those. However no single one overpowers the other so you get a lot of flavor in a drink.
Feel: I would say just shy of medium mouth feel. Fairly dry. Very good carbonation. There is not a huge after taste with this. You get a little bit of hop bitterness at the end but it is not offensive in any way.
Overall: I went into my local spirit store looking for a new ale to try. this was on the top shelf next to the last new one I tried. This was very good. I would make this a regular tenant in my beer fridge.

Can sat out of fridge for about 30 minutes in it’s 6’er. Still felt nicely cold though.

A nice light beige 3F head develops upon pouring into a tulip glass. Loose lace forms from the high mark as the head settles into a 1F soft island. Color is mostly cloudy and deep yellow with little transparency. Kind of unusual for a non hazy non NE IPA.

Nose hits with a good amount of pine mixed with grapefruit and floral notes on a whiff of bread.

Taste is creamy and soft with a fruity malt and a mid level amount of bitterness in the form of subtle grass, yup the smokeable kind, pine, and grapefruit notes. Some other citrus & tropical fruits are embedded in the beer but too subtle to ID for me, maybe some lemon. Also there is a bit of a sulfur note that I pick up as it gets warmer, like onion.

Carbonation is fine yet medium in mouthfeel with some bubbly tang to balance the slippery malty. Body comes across as medium with some thickening on the finish. The bitter notes although not too strong seem to last for quite a while almost like a mild acidic or metallic aftertaste. Perhaps the beer got a bit too warm, but still very enjoyable.

Yet another very interesting IPA. The tang and aftertaste on the finish are quite different. I will have to update my thoughts when I have a cold one at another time. Still quite tasty overall. EDIT: After a second can this time fridge cold, the impression remain mostly the same, and overall a bit too acidic and bitter for me. Downgraded. Can 3 - Big negative is the pot smoke taste note, big putoff.
