Pours a dark brown colour with a thin tan head that has little retention. The nose leads with lots of chocolate and cherry. Unfortunately it's a slightly fake smell, reminding me if cheap chocolate with a cherry jam like middle. There is a bit of dark roasted malts and coffee in the taste when you take a sip but that cherry syrup flavour is in the finish. The mouthfeel us in the medium range with a fairly active carbonation. An okay beer, a bit of a change from a lot of the other vanilla bomb winter ales out there.

A- Pours a dark cola color that is most likely clear, as I can see a fair bit of carbonation, which appears to be robust....the head is a caramel color, and the finger or so in thickness retains reasonably well. Lacing is pretty much non existent.
S- Bitter chocolate, black coffee, burnt malts and black cherry fruit are present in this one....it reminds me of black forest cake on the sweet end and dry oats and cocoa powder on the bitter side of things.....this smells quite nice and warm actually.
T- The flavors are quite close to the aromas....on top of pronounced dark chocolate, coffee notes and cherries, there is oaked vanilla, raw oat mash, burnt barley malts and some syrupy sweetness. The finish is grainy dry....oats in particular and there is a lingering creaminess. Very well balanced!
M/O- Creamy smooth and the carbonation is in my opinion is fairly aggressive....I could enjoy several of these in a sitting...I think this is a highly drinkable ale, if not a little mild overall in flavors. I like the distinctiveness of the fruit and chocolate flavor, and like the hints of everything else in there.....Stanley Park...once I didn't trust your product but it's decent for sure!

330ml bottle poured into tulip[ 1/11/15
A dark brown with a ruby glow when held to the light, a finger of mocha foams short lived leaving just a few polka dots
S smells like black forest cake with cherry cola syrup poured over it, plenty of vanilla and coco powder, smells pretty good but artificial
T again its more of a dessert then a beer, I like it but I'm questioning the ingredients used, they might be hard to pronounce
M lighter side of medium but a little foamy, slick on the palate and sweet cherry lingers with coco
O decent beer that I could see and a bit of a gateway brew to get people into darker Winter brews but not where the season would end up for most geeks
Nothing mind blowing but I could drink a couple without getting board at a party, might appeal to the masses

Fine looking Winter ale in a Stanley Park pint glass. Not overwhelming like a lot of winters. Soft carbonation with good smooth flavors of dark cherry and molasses. 1.5 inch head on latest pour, not too frothy. I would, and have had again. Kinda impressed with this winter ale. Slightly above average rating from me.
