330ml bottle, dubbed an 'unfiltered peach wheat ale', which explains the style here, and why this is different from the existing summer ale listing.
This beer pours a slightly hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, weakly foamy, and prominently bubbly off-white head, which leaves some decent layered sagebrush lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of peach jam, bready, grainy, and not at all spicy wheat malt, and an ethereal leafy, earthy hop bitterness. The taste is a lessened gritty peach pit fruitiness, still grainy wheat and its brother from another mother pale malt, a minor hard water stoniness, and pithy leafy, citrusy, and floral hops.
The bubbles are fairly underwhelming in their hard to discern frothiness, the body a more or less adequate medium weight, that sugary stonefruit essence equally buoying a soft smoothness. It finishes well off-dry, some lingering, peach, um, 'flavour' remaining staunch, while the wheat and grain tapers off, and those Citra hops keep on going when there is no longer anywhere to go.
Not a bad tasting brew, but I am a tad put off by the mention of 'ripe peach flavour' being an ingredient in this offering, or maybe that's just marketing dumbassery. At any rate, SunSetter (tm) is fresh, fruity, and probably available soon in your average local gastropub.
