Pours a dark amber/mahogany with minimal head.
Smell is a malty mix of dark fruit, clove and spice.
Taste is heavy on the spice and raisin.
Some toasted malt and mildly boozy.

Poured from the tap into a tulip glass at the Service Brewery in Savannah. The appearance is an amber brown color with a medium sized white head. The aroma is slight malt with bread. The taste is yeasty bread with mild malt.

Pours into an oversized wine glass a rich amber/brown with a full two finger light tannish colored head atop that settles into a soapy-like mass.Mild phenols and some light toastiness,a hint of earth is detected as well.Alot like a true beer of the style wich means no sour and/or funkiness, malty and bready with some lighter spiced phenols wich means clove mainly, with more bready dough, and stone fruit in the finish.Alot more like a true biere de garde compared to too many out there right now.Solid.

A: Clear amber color, 1 inch, khaki head, lots of fizz floating up from the bottom,

S: Belgian yeast, spice, clove, plum, raisin, malts

T: Spice is pretty intense, plum, raisin, spice, clove, sweet malts

M: Really bubbly, medium feel, spicy aftertaste

O: Never had this style but I can definitely tell its a belgian. Glad to see Service is trying other things than just a Pale Ale and IPA. Excited to see more offerings from them as they grow.
