Delicate, grainy aromas and flavors of chocolate, roasted grain, and hit of oyster shell. A very savory and refreshing stout with an intriguing hint of oysters.

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear jet black in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation along the edges of the glass and faint dark cola brown highlights. The beer has a finger tall foamy beige head that quickly reduces to a large patch of thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of roasted malts with light to moderate aromas of chocolate malts and a hint of roasted coffee.

T: Upfront there is a slightly stronger than moderate flavor of roasted malts with some light to moderate flavors of chocolate malts, chocolate, and roasted coffee. There is a very light amount of sweetness and a light to moderate amount of minerality from the oysters. Light to moderate amounts of roasty bitterness which slowly fades away.

M: Just shy of medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin.

O: Very enjoyable and easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Described by the brewery as a sweet stout but I found there to be just a hint of sweetness and slightly thin in the mouthfeel but still nice. Not much brininess from the oysters but some minerality.

On tap at the brewery's taproom in Savannah Georgia.

Appearance. This has a clear, dark reddish-brown body that is near black and opaque with a good off-white head.

Excellent aroma for an Oyster Stout, featuring dark roasted grains. The flavor carries the impact of oysters, with moderate influence for the style.

Poured from a 12 oz can (best by May 23) into a pint glass.
Deep brown, almost black, with a thick amber head that fades quickly.
Smells mostly of toasted malt with a hint of chocolate.
Tastes of malt and dark chocolate with a hint of saltiness.
Mouthfeel is odd, smooth but thin with a bit of tackiness left in the mouth. Not unpleasant, but not ideal.
Overall a great beer, perfect with a seafood dinner. Definitely worth picking up next time in Savannah.

I picked this up on a whim, then regretted it. Now that I tried it I can say it’s pretty darn solid.

Great looking stout - black as can be - but the scent leaves you wanting. Mouthfeel is a bit tacky but not distracting with a taste that was very very rich in roasted malts. Overall, it’s a decent beer and one not to fear because of the name.

Dark brown with an amber tinge and 5 fingers of beige head.

Smells of dusted cocoa and chocolate, toasted malt.

Taste follows the nose with a hint of oyster, and a slight sour note.

Light body with moderate powdery carbonation.

I got this in Colombia SC, and am drinking it in Redding California, July 22nd, 2020.

Had Lincoln’s Gift Oyster Stout at Service Brewing Tasting Room, Savannah, on nitro draft into almost tulip, and poured from 12-oz. can, bottom stamped “PKGD ON: OCT 31 19,” into faceted mug.

Pours apparently completely black until backlit, then brown at the edges, with light-tan head, settling into 2-fingers on nitro, 1-finger from can, which eventually dissipates to persistent film, leaving a little sketchy lace. Aroma of grassy hops and straight dry cocoa up front, soon followed by mild roast malts, and brine as warms. Begins sweet cocoa, then mild roast malts, some cola, and finally brine from the oysters, before a slightly roasted, drying cocoa finish.

This sweet oyster stout is nicely balanced between cocoa, mild roasted malts and mild brine.

12 FL OZ can
Served in a snifter

This beer pours black and is topped with several inches of tan head that recedes quickly leaving spotty lacing.

The smell is dark chocolate and dark fruit with hints of coffee.

I get a little dark fruit at first. Then I get some coffee and dark chocolate. The finish is dry.

Medium bodied

This is the start of stout season. This is an average stout. Even average stouts are good stouts.

This is a good drinking stout. Not a heavy Imperial just a solid, drink-a-few stouts. Service did a great job.

Poured from the tap at Service brewery in Savannah, GA. The appearance is a clear black color with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malts with some coffee and chocolate thrown in. The taste is perfection. Great blend of malt, coffee and chocolate. I love oyster stouts and this is the best that I have had.
