A 440ml can with a BB of Sept 2018. Purchased a little while back from Trembling Madness in York. Described on the label as a naturally hazy pale ale with 30 IBU.

A: Poured into an IPA glass. Can-conditioned. A bright, hazy amber hue with fine suspended sediment and intense carbonation. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam that lasts for a while before reducing to a patchy surface layer. Some lacing.

S: Aroma of incredibly fruity hops with hints of grapefruit, citrus zest, peel, tropical fruit, mild grass/hay, earthy yeast and pale malt. Bears an uncanny resemblence to freshly squeezed citrus fruits. Superb.

T: Tastes of intensely aromatic hops with notes of grapefruit, citrus, peel, tropical fruit, white grape, grass/hay, earthy yeast and pale malt. Pretty dry, followed by a robust hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.

M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and great body. Somewhat astringent; hop oils stimulate the palate. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, grapefruit, citrus, tropical fruit, earthy yeast and pale malt.

O: Fantastic! A cracking hop-laden pale ale. Looks good, while the aroma and flavour are seriously hoppy and fruity. Lovely body. Goes down like a dream - if you love hops then this brew is a must-try.

Can. Fruity hop notes, mostly ripe oranges and peaches. Taste is more resiny and quite bitter with some overripe fruit notes. Medium body and carbonation.

Pours a partially hazy yellow, with nice, fine foam.

Smell is juicy, with some pineapple, and a lot of citrus. Very crisp.

Taste is hugely refreshing. Massive amounts of citrus, and some well integrated piney bitterness. Very easy to drink.

Mouthfeel is thin to medium, well carbonated.

Overall, a very nice APA, not huge and overpowering in any way. Laid back and balanced, this is made for drinking all day.

CAN
Hazy lemon with pitted webby snow. 4
Greasy lemon peel. 4
Wheaty cracker, lemon jellies, herb, and dewy grass. 4
Sparkly honeydew linger.
Light, round, soft. 4

Straight Citra nose. Another NEIPA pretender: has the soft body and the juice but not the esters. Still, super quaffable. 4.25

16oz. can served in my Spiegelau Ale glass. Best before 05DEC2017 labeled on the base of the can. Pours a bright golden yellow with a dense, 3.5 inch bright white head and a hazy clarity. Thick swaths of texture lacing coat the walls of the glass as the head gradually recedes into a quarter inch, rocky cap. Fantastic nose - bright citrus, hints of tropical fruit and herbal/medicinal notes towards the back. Taste consistent with nose; however, it comes off a bit watered down and a light malt character also comes forth in the flavor profile. Mouthfeel is light in body with a soft carbonation and a kiss of acidity. Overall, really delicious. Not a juice bomb, but very drinkable and a pleasantly subtle.

Great APA

L - Hazy pale yellow with a huge white bubbly head

S - A lot of citrus (mostly lemon), fresh cut grass, berries, very dank, pineapple, passionfruit, tart, a bit resinous

T - Follow the smell with some wheat and oat balance. Very nice

M - Juicy as hell, very fine carbonation

O - A great NE style APA, maybe one of the best Northern Monk I've had and they do some really good stuff. Keep it going guys!

It poured a full hand of head with a hazy amber color with great retention.
Aroma with notes of orange marmalade, mint, candi sugar, ginger and lemon.
Flavor with notes of pineapple, box orange juice, lemon, ginger, candi sugar, white pepper, herbs, sour and citrusy notes and mild pine. Dry aftertaste with a medium bitterness.
Medium body with excessive carbonation.
Quite twisted traditional English Pale Ale with mild sour, Belgian accent and American hops notes. But I could also describe it as a modern Belgian IPA.

440ml Can from Good Spirits Co. Wine & Beer, Glasgow (£3.40):
This one was an okay pale ale from Northern Monk, it was a little basic at times and it wasn't as bitter or hopppy as I'd expected either. It was a drinkable offering with some citrus and touches of sweetness but it's not one I'd have again I'm afraid and it was a little bit of a disappointment to boot.
