Slightly hazy deep golden color with lively white head. Aroma has mineral notes and fruits like a fruit soda. Taste follows with mineral notes and bread crust, farmhouse style yeast and dry finish. Interesting one but not do great overall.

CAN
Dark amber with cream; marmalade and spicy white grape; some biscuit, then floral, peach, white melon, slight candied citrus peel, and a ton of earthy spice. Smooth + low bitterness. Gets lots of citrus oil as it warms.

Earnest, Godiva, CF160

4 4 4 4 4

A trio of Charles Faram hops: heritage Earnest is apricot + spice, and experimentals Godiva is tangerine + gooseberry, and 160 is tropical. It does play English, with a nose somewhere between NS + EKG, a lovely zesty thing as it opens, and a taste far more refined than anything American hopped. Pleasant and different, if maybe not worth all the backstory.

Pours a fairly clear orange with fine foam that leaves a lot of lacing.

Smell is malty and slightly sweet. Notes of floral hops and some pepper. Pretty old school.

Taste starts wth a solid malt base, with some peppery notes, and adds some citrus and floral hops.

Mouthfeel is medium and sticky, well carbonated.

Overall, a new school take on an old school recipe. Well made, but not anything spectacular.
