This extraordinarily complex yet balanced Double IPA is dry-hopped twice with whole flower cones and then krausened at packaging. The hop character (bitterness, flavor, aroma) is profound – vast and impactful like our local Suruga Bay is deep and magnificent.

This beer is boring. Not much flavor, pretty subtle and not distinct.

Aroma is citrus/fruit, malts and a hint of fusels/hard water. The flavor is citrus/fruit, mild tropical fruit, malts, a hint of hard water and a mix of hops and slight tartness in the finish.

Bottled July 2016.

Pours slightly hazy with a nice dark orange colour. Smelt of orange and spice. A little boozy to taste but smooth. Might have been better fresher but still not as fruity and juicy as some more recent DIPAs from the US.

Poured at good beer faucets in Shibuya on 5/31/16 into a pint glass. Poured a slightly hazy but bright orange with a beautiful bright white head. I can only get a light citrus smell from this beer, has very little scent at all. Mouthfeel isn't incredibly smooth, but isn't awful either. Pretty bitter with very little citrus or pine, but overall enjoyable. Doesn't quite match up to a good American IPA, but is very good for Japan.

Had this in Shibuya, Tokyo, at Good Beer Faucets right in the heart of Tokyo. Really cool place, great to talk to people who are literally on the front lines of bringing craft beer and our culture to Japan. This beer is delicious. I know at least I've been spoiled with access to delicious beer all the time, but the fact that this is being brewed for a market that is still very used to "all beer tastes the same" AAL type beers. The carbonation was pretty low, but other than that the feel was good. Nice hop finish and malt sweetness toward the beginning. Good beer.

Poured from a brown 11.2 oz. bottle. Has a cloudy orange color with a 1 inch head. Smell is of pine, some lemons. Taste is pine, citrus, honey, a bit of malts, light bitterness, alcohol is well hidden. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall is a fine beer.
