Picked up a sixer. Beer is great, Key Limes are great. How are they together? Let’s give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a light lime waft with some zest. Pours to a orangish yellow with an off white head into a steam whistle tulip. Taste is a sweeter lager with a slightly lime tartness and extremely faint bitterness that stays more in the aftertaste. Less lime than I expected but less is better than to much. Nice hot weather beer and is accompanying my seafood quite well.

Damn key Billy island ale where have you been all my life.. LOL I love this beer.. this is a very dangerous drinkable beer because it Blends a simple amber ale that's with the slight Touch of real key lime juice for a little bite in the Finish.. perfect beer for after mowing the lawn and at a 5.4 ABV its relatively drinkable you can have a few and still walk away

It pours with a nice head to start. I used a frozen pub pint. Head dissipates fairly quick. Very refreshing and smooth. You taste the grains, lime, and dare I say, a touch of honey sweetness. Great for the beach or chilling outside in the heat.

24 oz. on draft at Tropicana Field.

Appearance: Clear amber with a slight eggshell head.

Aroma: Very little. Some lime, some grain. Toast.

Taste: Lime note along with malts and some brown bread. Grains. Faint grass. Bread crust. Tiny bit sweet.

Mouthfeel: Very easy. The limey note edges on cloying and cakeish but doesn’t quite go too far.

Overall: A fun goofy beer. Not overpoweringly pieish, which would’ve been a mistake. Sort of a red ale with a pleasant lime note.

Can. Pours much darker than expected. Honestly not in love with the color. Looking at the can’s description, I was expecting something super light in color and body. The smell is damn pleasant though! Amber beer with a spritz of like. It works for some reason. Flavor shocked me. Tasty, tasty! It’s a really amiable Amber beer akin to a Vienna Lager. The little tap of limey flavor adds a bunch of fun. Light and drinkable. Body, smells, & flavor are light. Did not expect to enjoy this but here I am.

Was hoping for something that was more like a key lime pie, instead I got something more like a plain lime...

Offered in a can, the brew poured out a dark or burnt orange color, though I was able to pour out a nice slice of foam to top it off, it didn't last long at all. The smell was a very mild tang of lime and hops, very unremarkable with a mouthfeel that started off very carbonated, but then eased back as it warmed. Again, the taste isn't what I really wanted in the brew, so it wasn't necessarily bad, just disappointing. In itself, it's an okay beer and I'll be glad to finish off the sixer over the next few weeks.

can into pint glass. Pours a distinctly orange color with a decent off-white head. Initial impression is lime, period. There might be some generic malt stuff going on in the background, but by and large you're dealing with a lime bomb here. Mouthfeel is on the light side; carbonation is medium. Finish is sweet and not particularly encouraging. Probably OK if you're sitting on a beach but not something I'd seek out.

Grainy, malty and slightly bitter up front with a citrus back end. Unique but very good.

as the first beer of my vacation, i really have no issue with this. its a key lime ale, and frankly not a great one, but an easy enough beer to drink, and although i would avoid it in high doses, its not bad on the beach as my toes touch the sand for the first time in ages. more hazy than it needs to be, and almost flat looking, not totally refreshing in appearance, but the lime wedge they put on the glass picks it up some. aroma of syrupy sweet lime and generic pale malt, kind of weird to see it listed here as a red, it most certainly is not. lots of lime flavor here, sweet but assertive, not all the way authentic, but not way off. lots of body is the weird part, for an intended beach crusher, this one seems a little too sturdy, grainy, and still to really work in that context. still, for me, as a kickoff for a florida vacation, i have no complaints that are valid here. i have had far better beers here already, beach and otherwise, but i will remember this one as the beer that started a great week with family and loved ones in the fine florida weather. hard to gripe about that!

12oz can poured into a pint glass. Pours a golden orangish color with fizzy head that quickly dissipates. The aroma and taste feature some tartness from the key limes on top of some malt with very little hop bitterness. This would be a good lawnmower/beach beer in Florida as it is light and refreshing but not a beer I'd sit down and drink most evenings.

A lot of lime, but geniuine tasting. For as prominent as it is it is nkt really overbearing, there just isn't much else going on. Cant get a real good read on the base beer. It is kind of like a pale with a touch of amber malts? Certainly drinkable.

BA calls this a Red Ale, so I gave it a whirl. Are you serious? This is a fruit beer. Says so on the can, "an ale made with key lime juice". Very disappointed with this beer from the start. Pours an orange-amber color. Much like the urine of someone taking isoniazid. There is very little aroma. What there is is mainly lime. The taste is lime as well but not tart, almost sweet. There is something else I can't place too. Something I'm not used to having in beer. I won't be having this one again.

My new favorite. I think it tastes delicious. I do tend to like the fruit beers and I love key lime pie. Not to sweet and slightly tangy. Perfect balance. Even a slight creaminess. I can drink a six pack for a good buzz and no hangover. Love it. Makes me sad when the store runs out.

Bought a can of Keybilly whilst in Ft. Lauderdale to take on a cruise. The beer poured a hazy yellow in color with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent and taste carried hints of Faint grape/orange...touch of lemon light body...not overly great....coors light seems more refreshing. The mouthfeel was light in body with good carbonation. Overall I didn't like it and I would avoid it in the future.

It's almost time for me to say goodbye to Florida. It's been a nice trip with some great beer. This one, while not great, per se, is certainly unique to the region. Key lime pie has always been too sweet for me, but this beer version is better!

It's a dirty golden with little head. The aroma is sweet and watery. A touch of yeast smell.

The taste is very sweet from the key lime pie flavoring. The sweetness is barely tempered by the ale yeasts and a tiny bit of hops. This is one they could have loaded up with twice the hops and it still would not have been bitter or overly hoppy. Likewise it could be maltier (more boozy).

It's a refreshing drink with a nice finish and a bit of desert that sticks to you. I wouldn't recommend this but if you were really itchin for a sweet treat, go for it. I got a nice can for pretty cheap. Thanks, FLA.

Pours a clear orange golden color with white head. Lime on the nose without much else, wow; follows onto the palate. Light to medium bodied. Finishes with lime. Not really refreshing, more just weird.

Picked up a six pack, I love key lime anything so a key lime beer from my state (Florida) it must be decent. Poured hazy golden with some carbonation bubbling up. Not much head but that wasn't too much of a concern for me. Smells of pale hops and lime, but faint lime, mixed in with some malt. Taste was great it tasted like a lager or pale ale without all the hops, weird but nice, and then the lime comes in and lingers to the finish. The lime was very subdued and tasted great. I was thinking this would be sweeter with a huge presence of lime but I was wrong. This beer delicious and while it would be great for a summer day on the boat or beach it is tasting great sitting in my living room typing this review. I will definitely pick this up again.

Darker color than expected and also hazey. The head poured medium depth with large bubbles but dissipated quickly and seems to be a bit under carbonated. Very little carbonation after pour. Taste is great: lime doesn't overtake but is present with malty sweetness and citrus notes.

Pretty tasty brew, I thought. I got the obvious lime on the nose and in the taste, but also got a hit of some cinnamon and a little coconut on the taste. Delicious brew, I really enjoyed it.

Not a red ale. Not an amber ale. Who is categorizing this? fruit beer at best. Great beer. Terrible category for its style. Again, worthy beer so dont be discouraged. C'mon, Florida. Lets work on our descriptors here!

Brew Hub "Keybilly"
22 oz. brown glass bottle
$4.99 @ Public #1324, Tampa, FL

Appearance: Hazy deep amber with an orange cast and golden highlights. Frothy white head. Better than average head retention and lacing.

Aroma: Stench of the ocean (odd). Some mild malt.

Flavor: Lime comes through. Malt remains dominant. Slight tartness. Balanced. Finishes dry with a slight hint of residual tartness and lingering lime. Interesting and unique.

Mouthfeel: Medium to medium-light in body and crisp.

Overall: Interesting beer but the aroma is off, unless this is a single-bottle issue.

Does not look that good and has no smell but tastes great! The lime does not overpower this light beer at all, it complements it. Well done. 4.00. Update 8-2015: had it again in a bomber and it was way different tasting. Were did the lime go? All I taste now is sweet off tasting stuff. Way to perfumey and fake tasting. Just goes to show you that you can't rate a beer in just one sitting. I really like the idea of a Florida inspired key lime pie beer but a true pie is tart not sweet like this beer. 3.00

Served From 12oz can

A — Pours a light amber/brown color with a thin and puffy white head.

S — Smells of bright lime juice and grains, a little bit muted and not super fresh, but you can definitely tell it's lime juice.

T — Much like the nose, there is a tart and almost puckering note of lime juice, balanced by some sweet malts and sugars, there is a coconut tone here too.

M — Medium bodied, a bit too full bodied.

O — Nice and refreshing, it's like a florida beach in a glass, if you enjoy that kind of thing.

This is a great beer for the beach or boat just like its advertising. It's drinkable. The right amount of key lime. Not a hop bomb. Not sure it's classified correctly as an adjunct lager. It's clearly an ale.
