Notes: This is an imperial red ale brewed with two-row caramel Munich barley and Magnum and Williamette hops. The beer is a rich, malty ale with a ruby-red hue and a thick, frothy head of foam.

Look: Thick and foamy head that lasts a while with small bubbles pouring up. The color is somewhere between copper and amber, slightly hazy.
Smell: Faint smells of pepper and grain. Not that strong.
Taste: Slightly sweet, has a similar flavor to a Belgian, just not as forward with the malts or the heat in that way. Almost a fruity level to the ferment that a coffee would also have. Hops come in on the aftertaste, mostly bittering.
Feel: The feel is not as viscous as I was expecting, since there is some sweetness the beer feels slightly more thick, but not at all like syrup. As I drink, there is some heat, at 8%.
Overall: I think this a fine beer, its evenly balanced, there is just nothing screaming unique about this one. I would drink it again.

copper color, with a sweet smell. Way too malty with a very strong taste of alcohol and strong hints of spices

Look: Deep, crystal clear copper body. 1 finger of off-white head with good retention.

Smell: Very sweet malt, like bubblegum.

Taste: Sweet milk chocolate and caramel. Very, very mild bitterness that immediately fades.

Mouthfeel: Average body, with high carbonation.

Overall: Not quite as powerful as I would like, and a bit TOO sweet.

Poured on draft at the Brewhub facility in Lakeland Fl. What a rich malty, creamy, hoppy brew that's absolutely a delicious red ale. Truly one of the best ones I've had. Dark Ruby red and you catch the malty aroma immediately. The malts offset the hops perfectly and hide the higher ABV quite well. Awesome!

As good an imperial American Amber / Red Ale as gets which along w APA is a favorite style of mine.
Well done with Florida water water everywhere.
a) Pours a dark brownish copper body surmounted with khaki head that lasts and laces. Dark.
s) Reflective of the malty aroma that dominates some neat spicy hops
t) Flavor follows abundantly, Big flavor masks ABV, but slightly too sweet for 2.
f) Mid to creamy body, nice finish, crisp, a bit oily.
o) Great taste-off version of the Red Ale.

12 oz can from FL with a 27 August 2018 canning date.
Pours with a deep copper body topped by a bone colored head. Decent lacing.
Rich malty flavor with a nice balancing load of spicy hops.
Medium-full body with a mild reflection of the 8% ABV.
Overall: recommended version of the style.

A pleasant surprise of a malty brew in a style that has gone hop-heavy.
Looks were quite good; a reddish tinge to a mahogany body with a very inviting foam that became lace. Smells were mostly malt, caramel we are told. Tastes of mostly sweet malt/fruits found their balance by letting the hops in just enough. And the 8% was not evident. Low carbonation let this balanced syrup sit warmly in my mouth.

Interesting that Brew Hub's two best sellers are in this style. My first, I went on their website and can see that this is a very sophisticated operation despite being only a few years old. I perceive they use their extra capacity for contract brewing to others and, I suspect, this is not Mom 'n Pop money behind their operations... all of which is important in spreading the craft gospel.

I poured this into a frozen pub glass. Very nice dark red color. Aromas of a dry red wine. This had crispy carbonation right at the front. The finish was a smooth and dare I say, berry finish. Very good overall.

L: Fresh can less than 2 months old. Poured deep dark ruby red clear with thick off white head. I can see bubbles rising if I hold it up to the light.
S: Smells malty, a very rich tasty smelling malt. I love it. But surprised I didn’t pick up any hops. Just a slight tinge of booze.
T: Taste reminds me of Back Forty Peanut Butter Porter. Very flavorful. Roasty, nutty, malty, has a nice sweetness to it. Very balanced and strong flavor. Not boozy at all. Wonderful!
F: Full, thick. Like an Imperial should be. Retains a nice bite as well.
O: I’m so glad I bought a six pack. First offering from Brew Hub. This beer is so delicious!

Can. Pours quite dark. Really deep brown. Aroma is sweet and verbosely malty. Some old school hoppiness in the background. Flavor is malty but not too purely sweet. Booze is noticeable. Sneaky hop bitterness. Really full mouthfeel. Chewy. Rarely do I end up sipping a big beer that isn't a hop bomb. A nice change of pace but nothing more.

Dark amber in color with an inch of creamy reddish tan on top that dissipates quickly to a fingernail. There's a lot of caramel to marzipan to nutty maltiness in the nose. I'm tasting lots of chestnut and marzipan flavored malt, but there's not much bitterness to cut the sweetness. The mouth is lightly sticky, chewy, and dry.

Dec. 2017- Coffee colored with a tinge of copper; Creamy golden head dissipates rather quickly; This is a nice looking beer; nice aroma - smells like beer, dark beer; Mouthfeel pretty good - mild carbonation, first sip is tingly on the tongue. Good rich creamy flavor, slightly tangy, not overly robust. Overall, not bad - exceeded expectations.

Edit: 5/19/2020 - This is a good looking tasty beer. I would like it just a little bit more carbonated, or I guess I could simply accept the fact that some dark beers just aren't all that fizzy. I should watch what I wish for.

Tasted from a 12 oz can in a goblet.

L - Medium brown color with a strong red tinge. Slightly murky on first pour, but clears up as it warms and breathes. Golden head is weak on initial pour and quickly disappears almost immediately.

S - Great malty aroma of bread, nuts, graham crackers, faint raisins. Low but definite alcohol aroma.

T - Flavors are all about the malt--raisins, graham crackers. brown sugar. A bit of spice that could be from hops or maybe rye. An alcohol note that is not overly hot, like a gentle hint of brandy.

F - Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Medium hops bitterness. Moderate alcohol presence.

O - An enjoyable imperial red ale. Could use more head retention, but otherwise it's great.

A definite boozy drink that was, for the most part, solid...

The look was mostly dark red in color, with a decent head but it has not lacing. The smell was the most appealing aspect of the beer - very boozy and a very distinct smell of caramel. The beer was medium bodied, with light carbonation, but a tad cloying. I was expecting a more boozy taste and even some caramel but it was mostly run-of-the-mill ale. Not necessarily bad and I'm glad I'm letting a couple age for a few months.
