L: Fresh can less than 2 months old. Poured deep dark ruby red clear with thick off white head. I can see bubbles rising if I hold it up to the light.
S: Smells malty, a very rich tasty smelling malt. I love it. But surprised I didn’t pick up any hops. Just a slight tinge of booze.
T: Taste reminds me of Back Forty Peanut Butter Porter. Very flavorful. Roasty, nutty, malty, has a nice sweetness to it. Very balanced and strong flavor. Not boozy at all. Wonderful!
F: Full, thick. Like an Imperial should be. Retains a nice bite as well.
O: I’m so glad I bought a six pack. First offering from Brew Hub. This beer is so delicious!

Can. Pours quite dark. Really deep brown. Aroma is sweet and verbosely malty. Some old school hoppiness in the background. Flavor is malty but not too purely sweet. Booze is noticeable. Sneaky hop bitterness. Really full mouthfeel. Chewy. Rarely do I end up sipping a big beer that isn't a hop bomb. A nice change of pace but nothing more.

Dark amber in color with an inch of creamy reddish tan on top that dissipates quickly to a fingernail. There's a lot of caramel to marzipan to nutty maltiness in the nose. I'm tasting lots of chestnut and marzipan flavored malt, but there's not much bitterness to cut the sweetness. The mouth is lightly sticky, chewy, and dry.

Diver Down Imperial Red - Brew Hub - foam sounds like an underwater scream, call it an imperial red, but more like a red that fell asleep on the beach. “Does well with ageing” written on a gravestone.. Would be intimidating if not for sweet greeting hugging upon first meeting, leaving warm exotic feelings you carry into your future. Hops seem organized like an expert instructor leading a class on the optimal addition times for each variety. Smooth as the backside of a wave that silently invades a secluded surf spot. Friendly yet deep conversation stretching your mindset to heights expanding your instagram photos into alternate dimensions.

Coffee colored with a tinge of copper; Creamy golden head dissipates rather quickly; nice aroma - smells like beer; Mouthfeel pretty good - mild carbonation. Good rich creamy flavor, slightly tangy, not overly robust. Overall, not bad - exceeded expectations.

Tasted from a 12 oz can in a goblet.

L - Medium brown color with a strong red tinge. Slightly murky on first pour, but clears up as it warms and breathes. Golden head is weak on initial pour and quickly disappears almost immediately.

S - Great malty aroma of bread, nuts, graham crackers, faint raisins. Low but definite alcohol aroma.

T - Flavors are all about the malt--raisins, graham crackers. brown sugar. A bit of spice that could be from hops or maybe rye. An alcohol note that is not overly hot, like a gentle hint of brandy.

F - Medium body with low to moderate carbonation. Medium hops bitterness. Moderate alcohol presence.

O - An enjoyable imperial red ale. Could use more head retention, but otherwise it's great.

A definite boozy drink that was, for the most part, solid...

The look was mostly dark red in color, with a decent head but it has not lacing. The smell was the most appealing aspect of the beer - very boozy and a very distinct smell of caramel. The beer was medium bodied, with light carbonation, but a tad cloying. I was expecting a more boozy taste and even some caramel but it was mostly run-of-the-mill ale. Not necessarily bad and I'm glad I'm letting a couple age for a few months.

Poured out a deep brown with a ruby hue. Thick, creamy long lasting head. The smell was all malt with no hops noted. The taste was quite malty indeed but never delivered the "snappy hop finish" that the can promised. The mouthfeel was quite thick, even for a higher gravity ale. I'm not so sure I would consider this beer a "perfect reward after a full day of work" as the can alludes to. Still, if you crave this style it's probably worth a try.

Look: It pours dark amber with red hues. The head is light brown with moderate retention.

Smell: There are aromas of caramel, molasses, and some spice. In addition, as it warms plums become more apparent.

Taste: The flavors are malt forward in caramel and toffee. There is also some bread apparent in the background. There are some spicy and herbal flavors.

Feel: It has a moderate body with moderate bitterness. The balance is towards the malt with the hops playing a supporting role throughout the flavor and finish.

Overall, the malts remind me of scottish ales. The hops work towards the balance, but the malt remains the main aroma and flavor throughout the beer.

12 oz can, bought in a six-pack in Destin, FL.

This is one of the most beautiful beers I have ever seen: Clear ruby red color, with a dark beige head, that looks delicious.

Nice otherwise.

This is more of a scotch ale that is hopped than an amber ale, in my opinion.

An Imperial Red Ale caught my attention, let's give it a whirl. Popping the top I get a waft of red licorice and some butterscotch. Pours into my trusty SAPP to a deep reddish brown with a multi-sized bubble tan two finger head. Mouthfeel is heavy and syrupy. The taste is not unlike red licorice with a nice bitter hop kick that builds to a semi-bitter aftertaste. An interesting flavor of an imperial brew. A good sipping brew that packs a wallop.
