Another covid review. Too damn cold to sit outside and drink beer without an inclosed space. But the beer was damn good enough to tough it out for a couple pours. Some "taproom" exclusive beers to check out. Loved the Keller Kazbek and would love to put a solid session with that beer. Service was fun and helpful and tried their hardest to make things comfortable under the circumstances. They deserve all the credit. Be interesting how they handle this in deep winter. They have to get an inclosed tent at the very least.

Old Nordeast Minneapolis location rehabbed into a tap room. Bare brick walls and plenty of wood. The place is usually full with with a mix of neighbors, beer lovers and members (its a coop). Good vibe, quality beer and friendly.

Really nice place in a newly re-developing part of town. Great beer. What's a little disappointing is that they have some bottled beers that aren't on tap. Not that big of a deal. Staff is helpful. And there are great nearby place to bring food in to the taproom.

Those who enjoy sour beers, look no further, this is your stop in Minneapolis. From kettle sours to mixed fermentation sours, this is the place. It is right on Central Avenue where if you are a fan of foreign foods, every culture is available and inexpensive. Parking is not too difficult and the taproom can be busy to the point where no seating is available or it'll be empty. Not only are their sours delicious, but there IPAs and lagers are first rate too. The staff is extremely friendly which might be due to them being a co-op. The co-owners seem very passionate and are actually decently involved in their operations. Another great NE Minneapolis brewery.

these guys are doing some awesome beers right now, some of the best in the twin cities, so i was stoked to get in and check it out. they have a cool space, the main taproom is a lot like a million others, some cool art, high ceilings, visible brew house in the back, long bar, newish, but the back is awesome, they have a great outdoor area out there thats private and comfortable, but i sat at the bar. they had quite a few beers working, but most of their gnarly ones were only in bottles. i had a great saison here, and a dry hopped sour that was also excellent. they were quite busy so it wasnt a great opportunity to interact with the bartenders, but they were pleasant and cool folks. everyone in here seemed beer geeky too, lots of conversations overheard about yeast strains, mash temperatures, dry hop schedules and the like, pretty informed clientele for sure. the beer is awesome here and the atmosphere is cool, its also in a neat part of town. of the many breweries in the area i have now visited, these guys rank near the top of the list for the quality of the beer alone. well worth stopping in for some heady bottles too!

Easy to drive right past FS, as it is on crowded Central Ave. The brew pub is well lit with ample table and bar seating. Several taps are available as with several styles i liked that. They also have a nice and private outdoor seating area in the back away from the bustling Central Ave. Service is good, parking on busy evenings can be difficult . FS is worth a stop both for beer and atmosphere.

Modern, industrial feeling taproom on the inside. Lighting at night is perfect for a beer review (i.e. very bright) but a little odd to socialize. The outdoor area is very nice with picnic table seating and bags. Points for a real dart board as well. Good service and always a good variety on tap with something always tasty. A taproom worth multiple visits in the Twin Cities.

Perhaps my favorite taproom to hang out in MN, and that's saying a lot since I have been to many awesome taprooms around the state.
Chill vibe, friendly staff, great beer, a nice variety of styles from traditional (pils, Vienna lager, IPA) to adventurous (salted watermelon gose).

Nice modern-styled tap room. Lots of great beer, especially if you are into IPAs and sours. No parking lot, which is a hassle. However, it's worth the trip for the great beer.

This is the third brewery to pop up within half a mile of my house--the other two being 612 and Bauhaus Brew Labs. The other two have nicer digs but Fair State has better beer, at least for my tastes. As is the norm for tap rooms in Nordeast, the other patrons are friendly, as are the bartenders. Fair State's emphasis on sours has helped me overcome my bias against those styles, primarily because they really are good. Their IPA is exceptional, as are the variety of lagers I've tried. They also allow dogs in the beer garden out back, which my dog appreciates. And it's a co-op! Needless to say, my wife and I are members.

Never even heard of this place, but I was doing a little research for my MN/IA trip, and Fair State seemed right up my alley. Nice layout inside, nothing fancy, cream-colored brick walls, glossy wood bar, beer garden out back. Neckbeards everywhere. Nice beer line up including some basics, IPAs and the like, and a pils running through a Randall. Also a series of very interesting saisons/wilds/soured wheat beers. Lots of good stuff to choose from. Yeah, I think could see myself going here a lot if I lived in the area.
Service was fine, I really had no problems there. One thing I wasn't a fan of was the lack of sampler flights. They did do half pours though, so that was a nice option. I don't think they actually serve food here, but they happened to be dong a BBQ the day I visited, and I think you're allowed to order out from local eateries.
Whether local or visiting the city, you should definitely check this place out. They're doing good stuff here, and they're worth keeping an eye on.
